    HELLO Everyone
just wanna share my story with you and warn you about their dealings. last month i bought an sls roadster with 2000km from them . when i first called they told me car is pristine . when i gave first deposit they said rear bumper had a small scratch and its repainted for 2000$. i said no problem. after more than one month waiting for the car it came with a repainted rear fender and passanger door!!! when i complained about this fact mark edmonds the general manager there told me the following: "you guys in quebec make it a big fuss if a car is repainted . here in vancouver we focus about the amount of repair." since then they dont answer calls and we called like at least 12 times between me and my leasing company park avenue.

i want you to be aware ! i have all the emails that supports every word i said . in last 10 years i bought over 50 exotic cars from murcielago ,phantoms and down . i never experienced anything like this . and coming from a ferrari dealer is totally unacceptable. i think mark edmonds is a dishonest man and mark harrison ,the salesman, is a liar .

Hey guys I just wanted to come and chime in and vouch for Sagittarus, he is a good friend of mine and been a member for a while here on fchat but does not post often. You have seen pictures I have shot of all the cars hes had over the years and has had multiple ferrari's over the years and is also a current Ferrari owner. This situation that is happening with Ferrari of Vancouver seems completely unacceptable and super shady to me. You would expect better from such a prestigious Ferrari dealership, this is not a 20k civic where such a thing "might" fly.

Has anyone else had similar issues or stories happen with Ferrari of Vancouver? Hopefully we can get this mess resolved and avoid anyone else getting caught in a similar situation.

Yes first incident ! I chose dealers carefully and who I buy from . It was really unexpected from Ferrari dealer . Especially the way I felt with them from the begining I insisted on giving them deposit . Never thought they can do this . Now I know and u know how Ferrari Vancouver conducts business and who's working for them . Incompetence and dishonesty at high level. Especially from the general manager mark Edmonds who insists that I didn't want the car . Refusing to admit the point that u can't sell a 200k car repainted without disclosing all the facts . He have himself entitlement to judge that's it's not a big deal to sell a repainted car and that's it for him. Very simple guy and amateur.

Does the Canada Consumer Protection Act of 2002 give you some legal recourse?

Your consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act

This is an interesting clause in it:

"If you have entered into an agreement in which a cooling off period applies and you discover that the business failed to disclose something they were required to by law you have the right to cancel within one year. "

    Along with this clause:

"The business has the right to take back the goods provided under the agreement by either picking them up or paying for the cost of sending them back."

Can you file a formal complaint to the government in Canada?

Wow, you mean you basically bought an exotic car every other month?! Do you have them all or just trade them in every two months?

There is always ywo sides to a story but if this is true I would post it everywhere and all the time and talk to a lawyer.

I must say I have never had any trouble with a dealer, Ferrari or any other dealer.
I own and have bought alot of cars. Most dealerships can be talked to and will do what is reasonable. I suppose this could happen, Sad

    don't sweat the small stuff.
if the paint is perfect i wouldn't worry.
if you are not satisfied with the quality of work, return the vehicle.
this issue has nothing to do with the 458 and i agree, the post should be removed form this forum.

I have also had problems with a dealer. Moral of the story look at a car before you buy it. I would just sell the SLS take the hit and move on life is short.

The biggest question is what kind of damage is under the new paint? A lot of these high end cars get into accidents and get fixed without a report of the actual damages. They get them fixed at a shop and tell you "it was only a scratch that needed a minor repaint". There is just too much downside with high end cars with big declarations. I was once told a car just had rock chips that had $15,000 in repairs.

Yes, most high end cars have "high end bills" when it comes to damage. Lets be frank here, this is a Mercedes SLS, not a 1965 Ferrari 300 MM worth millions. No doubt the SLS is an expensive and amazing car, but I would think that a door repaint and rear fender repaint would at least knock off a few thousand $$ from the price.

The problem will be down the line when Saggittarius tries to sell the SLS again... someone (most likely a dealer!!) will again complain about the painted door and fender, and will probably ask him for a major discount. So why should he pay top dollar now to FOV ??

And, to top it off, his concerns about his SLS (and how rotten he thinks it might be) have been spread all over here!

Nothing the OP's experience but I had a run in with same dealership last year regarding a black 360. I was inches of buying until he was reluctant in answering questions on mileage (it was a US car). But the discrepancy was too much considering what car proof claimed. He dropped the price an additional 8k because of this. I was still turned off.

Always a huge mess when threads are merged, none of these consecutive posts make sense.

Anyways, Yes he has had that many cars over the years, I have seen most of them. Sometimes I dont get the opportunity to see everyone because he cycles through them so fast! This is his 5th SLS alone... first roadster.

Like Starboy444 mentioned, when it comes time to flip the car he will will end up taking the hit on the car that he was not responsible for in the first place. Why should he have to take the loss when it was the dealers fault?

    Hi guys
Thank you all for your kind words ! Fortunately it's only money involved here . Unfortunately people like Mark Edwards . Mark Harrison and Ferrari Vancouver are representing the ultimate brand in automotive history Ferrari . they are not worthy of this brand , heritage and it's clients . The facts of their fraud are black and white and emails proven . Still they're willing to dirty their image . I'm happy you re all aware . Ferrari Vancouver are aware too of this thread because I told them . As you can see there is no other side to this story . Please spread the word about their business ethics . Avoid them at any cost because exotic car ownership is all about the experience and these people are far from getting this picture . I will use every recommendation u guys suggested and all what my lawyers can do . I'll keep u posted this is far from being over .
    Thank you

I bought my 458 Spider new from Mark Edmonds, and he is a nice guy, never promise you things that he can't fulfill (about delivery time), and the Ferrari Vancouver is actually a very nice dealer to deal with. Before that I wanted another brand, I called the dealer, and being told that the only available stock was white, others (orange and grey) were sold out. But those sold out, the owner might want to gain some profit by a "premium" of $50,000. Then I asked "what if I order a grey one, because I don't like to pay premium?". "Ohhh, don't do that, that will take 3 years to deliver." This kind of ripoff dealer, I never want to spend any money on them. We are the limited-version people who want to spend over 400K on a car, and being treated worse than those Corolla buyers, right???
Well, with Mark Edmonds was pretty straight, he checked and got back to me that I would get the car in about 7 months. And the car was delivered in 6 months. Never spent any "premium" on it.
In this SLS case, in my opinion, you have to find out why they painted the door. If it was because of the door being hit, then you may want to consider returning the car and get a full refund. But if for example there were chippings and being repainted the whole door to repair it, that's actually a good thing, as long as the new paint is a matching quality, not a Corolla's paint.

Thank u mik458 spider for ur message . I see you were more lucky than me . Unfortunately mark Edmonds refused already to take back the car and refund me the money. The car was actually repainted due to an accident and not chip on the paint. That's why I took the liberty of warning you guys about their actions . The car has 2900 km and I paid top dollars because they said it's in mint condition no body paint whatsoever only minor scratch on rear bumper confirmed by email. In my experience Mark Edmonds lacked professionalism ethics and character . Enjoy your new spider it's an incredible car . I was the proud owner of the first 458 in canada and now waiting for the speciale.
    Cheers
