I'm having a hard time finding actual numbers.

What is the block deck height?

I've found rod length is 137mm.

Does anyone have big end width and pin diameter handy?

There's been more than a few Ferrari V8 engines over the past 40+ years.

For which one specifically are you looking for information?

Sorry... stuck in my own little world. Dino family V8's, specifically the 3.6

And of course I can't go back and edit my original post at this point. Lame.

    3.6?
As far as I know, there were 2.0 and 3.0 engines in the early Ferrari/Dino cars.
I believe the 3.0 Quatrovalvole became the 328 (3.2 liters)

Despite what wiki might say, the V8 engines are not really known as being "Dino" engines in the Ferrari community - The "Dino" engines are seen as being the V6 engines because that is what Alfredino Ferrari actually worked on.

The V8's shared design characteristics with the V6 engines (and the V8 engined 308 GT4 model was originally badged as a "Dino" before later being badged "Ferrari"), but the V8's have always been seen as being a Ferrari engine - Not a "Dino" engine.

Calling them Ferrari V8's above didn't have the desired result.
It's also easier than typing "the 2.0/2.8/2.9/3.0/3.0/3.2/3.4/3.5/3.6 family"

Using Wikipedia as a source on Ferraris will lead you to all kinds of misconceptions.

How about something simple, like does anyone have dimensions on the 360 engine?

The 360 WSM probably has most of what you need.

Is not the 308Gt4-360 essentialy derivations of the same motor.

Out of curiosity what does a 360 motor weigh compared to a LS7 and what were the dimensional differences.

Sean- There are similar design features, but comparing a 5 valve per cylinder engine with a two valve is stretching it a bit. The early V8s actually have some commonality with the Daytona engine, except for a few obvious differences. All are cast aluminum engines with wet liners and DOHC heads that follow a similar design philosophy along the lines of the Jano engines.

I've shipped both recently and I believe the 360 engine is 406# vs. about 460# for the LS7. I don't have the exact deminsions but I know the 360 engine is very tall compared to the LSx engines. The runners on the 360 Intake are tall.

There are deck height and connecting rod dimension differences along the way too. Just the numbers he was looking for. Making such vague information requests hardly makes answering a question easy, something that is incumbent on the seeker of information.

I did find the manual available for download, and while it does have dimensions for the conrods, it does not list the block deck. I was told elsewhere the 3.0 & 3.2 block deck is 204.2mm. If the 360 had the same deck height, 39.5mm crank throw and 137mm rods, then it would have to have a 27.7mm piston compression height, which is *VERY* short. Since 360 pistons are also significantly dished, I suspect the 3.6 has a bit more deck height than the 3.0/3.2.

Interesting how difficult some pretty basic numbers are to find.

360 piston: (gudgeon) wrist pin center to crown deck is 27mm.
