I have put over 1,500 miles on my 456M since I got it last month - HA! - and in the process destroyed what was left of the ancient, fossilized P-Zeros that were on it: Today when I checked the car, the driver's side rear was very low, and they are practically slicks now.

So, who do you trust in SA to mount new tires on your Ferrari? I have a 456M, but it has the 18" Barchetta wheels, not the 17" stock ones. I'm going with a set on Nitto INVOs, so a Nitto dealer would be good, but not strictly speaking necessary (I can order them from Discount Tire, but I wouldn't want them mounted there).

    Cheers,

    George

Andrew Garcia at the Firestone on Culebra. He will schedule you for a quite time, let you drive into the bay, and do the change himself.

Or go back to Barrett and let the dealer do it.

Both places have worked on my car (and truck) in the past, and I trust them both. There are a few old threads on how tire shops have messed up things, and no shop is perfect, of course. That Firestone or the dealer would minimize that possibility and make things right if an honest mistake occured.

Thanks for the replies. Turned out the guy who does the Nittos for my truck has a workmate who does exotics too (He'd done tire changes on an Enzo - look up the torque specs! They are like a semi tractor! - so I figured he could handle a 456M).

So, got the INVOs yesterday at, believe it or not, the Discount Tire on O'Connor Rd., which is two miles from my house. They did an excellent job, with the manager overseeing everything. Even looked up the proper torque specs, and of course didn't use the impact wrench.

I'm quite pleased: Ordered the Nittos at 8:00AM, they were delivered by 1:00PM, and had them on the car by 3:00PM.

Nice to be rid of those old P-Zeros. They were dried out, hard, and LOUD.

    Cheers,

    George
