    "after all that?" Hardly.

I just posted some shots taken of my collection by a fellow enthusiast in response to this thread. They were taken months ago, not intended to describe a car for sale, and if and when I do post a true for sale ad, there will be detailed pics posted, inclcuding the bolster wear.

Mike, I sent you an email.

You were going to buy it and trailer it back without knowing what the compression and leakdown of the engine was?

The first TR that I looked at had about 85psi on the number 10 cylinder, and the leakdown was over 20%. Do you have any idea what it would have cost to fix that?

Like James Patterson told me - you simply cannot tell from listening by ear to a 12 cylinder.

FWIW, ironicly , the seatbelt campaign is still open / active on the VIN the OP provided...so they could be replaced.

Doesn't change the fact you used up alot of fuel, but maybe a ray of hope for the next owner...

Just rattling your chain - no offense intended. Your original intent (glamor pics and not a 'condition' report) was apparent. Apologies if it did not come across as intended.

That white on white TR is awesome. Mike, look at the pictures in the link he sent and get in touch with him. If it's priced right that TR will sell in seconds.

    Good luck with your hunt!

Was minutes away from driving about 7 hrs to see this car ( not quite the 19.5 that you did) when a friend sent me a link to this forum. Glad he did as I had the same experience talking to joe and received pictures that looked great. Thanks for posting this and saving me a wasted day. I read some replies and regarding the seat belts, joe sent me the service records and it states that the recall was not completed because of modifications in 2006. I will post the records I received, along with pictures if yall would like them. Thanks again for this buyer beware post.

Okay for anyone looking to buy this Testarossa, it is going to be Auctioned off at the Dallas Leake Auction on November 21st thru 23rd. I called the Auction Company and told them about the condition of the car as I saw it and they said they had not personally seen the car but was told it was super nice, clean and had no paint work or any issues at all. So they were lied to as well. Just FYI if anyone was considering this one sight unseen. Also I am still looking for a Testarossa, and I think I want a Black one, if anyone has one for sale or knows where one is for sale I would appreciate the information.

here is the write up from a 2012 auction:

Lot # 526 1988 Ferrari Testarossa, Body by Pininfarina; S/N ZFFSG17A1J0075284; Engine # 00885; Red/Tan leather; Original, modified for competition or performance, 3+ condition; Hammered Sold at $45,000 plus commission of 10.00%; Final Price $49,500 – Alarm, Momo leather rim steering wheel, Alpine cassette stereo, A/C, Sabelt 4-point belts, 18-inch polished modular centerlock wheels, CD changer, Tubi exhaust. Good original paint and interior. A little dusty and used appropriate to the 31,287 miles on the odometer. This Testarossa looks track-used and brought a healthy price for its presentation. The car card says it has 3K miles ‘since annual service’ which begs the question, ‘Which annual’? Potentially a strong driver, there are too many blanks in its presentation to make this any more than a full price.

That's weird - That car was sold at the same auction in 2012.

The pictures they sent in make the car look good, but on the deck lid just under the FERRARI emblems there is a huge dent where someone I guess slammed the the deck lid closed and pressed on the actual deck lid leaving a big dent. Also there are numerous Clear runs on the back half of the car, and numerous door dings. The Alarm is cobbled in there and does not work, the interior is very dirty and needs attention, also the rubber boot for the air cleaner is severely cracked and needs to be replaced, also he told me they just had the AC repaired and was sa-post to be in working order, well it did not blow cold at all.. The tires all need to be replaced as they are weather checked from age. This guy never even titled the car, it is still in the guys name they bought it from in Oklahoma.. The car has three things going for it, the exhaust, the wheels and the seat belt bar. Thats just my opinion.. If someone was interested in this car I would for sure look at it in person and know what you are getting. It has been rode hard and put away wet as the saying goes.. Also the car needed the engine out service as it had been many years since it was done.

Oh Yeah forgot to mention someone also installed a Ford Starter solenoid under the air intake system so the car will start, and the two guys that own it are not very professional and very deceiving.
