why flee they'll get you no anyway and it will be worse for you, UNLESS the driver doesn't own the car and it's stolen

The front tires looked bald? Maybe under the influence?

In a case like this, the driver flees to avoid a drunk driving charge. They will claim that they were so shook up or were in shock that they didn't realize someone was injured etc, and will go home or to a bar to have a drink... Ideally with a witness who saw them drinking after the time of the crash. I've heard of this type of post-crash alibi exercise a few times, I think it is shared by the pathetic cowards out there.

Or the driver/owner fled the scene knowing that he was at fault so that way he can say that the car was stolen earlier and the guy who fled the scene was the guy who stole his car. As long as he can find an alibi who can confirm that he was some place else at the time of the accident then he walks free.

I wonder if the owner/driver will turn out to be an attorney who knows the aforementioned tricks to avoid prosecution or responsibility?

    WOW. Sad story.

I wonder if that was the red Scud they had at the Ferrari Dealer in Ft. Lauderdale a few weeks ago that was labeled "sold".

Makes me wonder if this car was stolen since the driver fled. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Yes it will be interesting to see the outcome. Very sad and our prayers go out to the families to all involved.

I live near the accident and found out about it when a friend called me to see if I was alright. I asked why and he told me the story. There are handful of red scuds in south Florida.

Thats what he or she is going to say. Car was stolen wasn't them.

Then again if it really was theft, he's looking at all sort of charges.

No update on this on the news. I'm curious to see if the actual owner was the one that fled.

Almost like the Ted Kennedy case (except Teddy's was perhaps even more pathetic- what a POS he was Chappaquiddick incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).

My heart and prayers go out to the families with a tragedy like this!!!

I live only minutes from the owner of the Ferrari (Pembroke Pines) and I do not think that I have ever met him, or atleast I do recognize his name. Maybe once I see a photo of him I will recognize him.

Does anyone know his name on this forum ???

I don't think anyone would be inclined to post his user name at this point but a bit of research on the forum will do the trick

    Either way, very sad story...

I think many on this forum know him and is very well respected. He is one of the top technical contributors here and rennlist IMO. Lets leave it there until its confirmed , don't want to name any names until 100%.

How can any decent human being just flee the scene & live with themselves? Sad, sad story.

Condolences to the lost and injured.

Disgrace to all Ferrari owners, what pond scum and eventually he will face judgement with God.

This looks like a manslaughter issue made worse by leaving scene of an accident.
