The annual Ferrari sale by Bonham's is planned next week end to Gstaad (Switzerland, Palace Hotel). This year, Maserati is also at the program with some beautiful models. But among the cars at the catalogue, my favorite is the 750 Monza #0554M, ex-Masten Gregory. A good gift idea for Christmas !

Here's 0054M at the Montreux GP in July :

Are there no 330 2+2's for auction? I'd be curious to see how they would do.

Be really nice if an Fchatter got a 'boots on the ground' look at both cars.
Hard to see the real details from the left coast of the US........
Seems to me 'we aint gettin much respec' on GTC's in Europe....at least in comparison to US asking prices @ 175 & above......
Maybe the real prices of GTC's are lower than what some dealers want us to think......

Maybe because #9459 (argento) was modified, especially the engine . Read the text : "the engine was entirely rebuilt incorporating high lift camshafts and modified cylinder heads among many other improvements, which raised peak revs from 7,000 to 8,000 and the estimated maximum brake horsepower to circa 340 (from the stock 300)".

Thanks for putting the sale information up. That was quite interesting. Why were the maseratis beating their estimates?

Please pardon my ignorance on Marcel. Has he left the forum or more hopefully, is he on vacation and out of communication? He is such a valuable resource. I took great pleasure in meeting him at Grand Touring this past year.

    cheers

    Ken

Last year I purchased a GTC at Gstaad for $122K (without comission): Great condition and color, not concours. Although at last year's exchange rates, the dollars would have been 10% lower, say $110K.

This year the two GTCs have gone for $136K and $170K (without comissions). The 136K car appears to be a good but not great very late model, whereas the 170K car is a "racing" GTC, with lowered suspenson, rallye equipment, and tuned engine. I had never heard of such a thing, and am surprised at the premium.

How do these prices compare to current GTC selling (not asking) prices in the US?

    Cheers,

    Julio

    True, Joe, it would be!

The euro F40s had fuel cell bladders though, an expensive feature to repair....

    Still...............
