Just wondering here, would anybody know what a sort of "average" salary would be for a standard Ferrari employee (i.e. press officer, labrat, officeperson etc.), not the people who build the cars but you know just "standard" jobs which would be found in any other large corporation. I have heard the race mechanics earn €15.000/month as seniors and €9.000/month as juniors but thats obviously not standard wages. Many people think that everyone who works at Ferrari in Maranello are mega-rich, this is obviously not the cause, as they are when it all comes down to it, employed by Fiat. So, does anybody have any ideas?

    :)

Its just like any car company I would imagine.

A marketing job is marketing...a mechanic job is a mechanic. Nobody is getting rich in those types of positions.

Their factory salaries are the same as any car factory in Europe. That is, okay but not above the median by any means.

Many of the HQ/factory workers intern while students at Maranello High school, are hired upon graduation, and spend a lifetime there. Ferrari definitely favors the locals in their hiring.
This is Europe and craftsmen/women still apprentice in Guilds and their goal is to become a master craftsmen. Maybe not that way in Milan and Rome but Modena is in Italy's "heartland" - the Po River Valley - and in car circles is known as "Motor Valley".

That's what I thought too... Being employed at Ferrari is not economically different from working the same type of job at Fiat og any other large car corporation from I've experienced. Just thought I'd ask anyway :p

Thinking of me? No, not yet. But I am working towards an eventual internship/apprenticeship in their Press Office/media when I finish my relevant education. Who knows? :p I'm not just some punk on the street by the way, wanting to work for Ferrari. I am seriously commited and know most of the right people to get me where I want to be. :)

When I was there last the person I was talking to said the wages are average for the job. The bonus was Ferrari had been voted number 1 in employee satisfaction across Europe.

She also said that no standard employee could come close to affording one of the cars.

So I'd guess they wouldn't care about an employee discount.

    Welcome to the forum mate.

That's decent for a spare parts man, where are you located?

I assume America as you have made mention of the minimum wage.

Around 6 years ago I called my local Ferrari/Maserati dealer located in Brisbane, which is approximately 1200 miles from where I live.

I talked to the service manager in regards to a mechanical position there fixing Ferraris.

There was no job going, I just called to ask what the pay rate would be in the event I would like to apply for a job there one day.

The service manager was more than happy to answer my questions. He said there was no job going at that point in time and that if I did apply for a job there, I would have to start fixing cars in the Maserati side of the workshop first.

"You can't just get a job working on Ferraris straight away, you have to earn it".

Lol lol lol *No worries mate*

He was a nice chap, but the "you have earn it" comment was a little silly IMO.

The pay rate started at $15 per hour with Maserati. After 6 months the pay would increase to $20 per hour.

If you eventually made it across the other side of the workshop to wrench on Ferraris, the pay went to $22 per hour.

Decent money for a mechanic at the time and it was on par with the other mechanical workshops like Ford and GM which were paying their mechanics the same wage.

The labour charge to the customer at the time was $150 per hour in the workshop.

So working as a mechanic for a Ferrari dealership in Australia is not going to make you rich by any means.

Mechanics are averaging around $30 p/h here now in Australia, I would assume the Ferrari dealership I called would be paying a very similar wage to their mechanics.
