A couple of weeks ago, a couple of the kids I teach (golf) and knowing how much i like Ferrari came up to me telling me there was a Ferrari for sale at local garage, this immediatley got my attention and was unable to get over to see the car immediately I asked the kids questions. Oh its stunning they were saying, looks awesome, they didnt know which model it was but it was up for £15k. One of the more knowledgable of them said it was a 355, and I said no way, not at this price, so I got on the internet and showed them some pics of a 355 and said they were upwards of £30k. So i then show them pics of a 308 GT4 (thinking that this settles in the £15k range) but no, it definitely wasn't that. So i get more and more intrigued (and start thinking/hoping) this dealer (who usually sells fiestas) may be selling something he doesnt really know much about and could be on for a good buy. The day finally comes where I have some free time to get over there and I dont even get out of my car. It is a horrid MR 2 with an equally horrid and hideously proportioned attempt at a 355 body. For £15k you could drive around in this, and for those who arent as quick as the average bear you could probably get away with it and kid some people in to thinking you are a Ferrari owner
Yes its very easy to forget what it was like before we all knew what was what Very interesting asking kids yesterday at littlehavens what their favourite car was....very few knew models etc. They were all Ferraris and that just made them all nice.
I put this in the ebay motors search engine (replica, kitcar, kit car) There are some very scarey motors out there (
Some of the cars in this thread will have you in stitches http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19010
Heres one from the above thread. I will leave you Strudel owners to answer this one http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=136872020&postcount=1102
Wasn't there a F360 body kit for a Pug 406? Not sure if Heaven or Hell, but is is a 4/5 seater and would be really embarassing to be made/asked to sit in the back.
Not an F car, but my favourite nonetheless: (It's a McLaren in case you don't get it...) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm not a fan of kits, but that is one that made me look twice. The registration number gave it away. It comes up on my HPI as Extreme 360 kit.

This is the "thing" I went to see in Newport. It even has Maranello Concessionaires licence plates Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That really annoys me that these idiots sell Maranello window decals. They even do fake etched prancing horse logos on fleabay
You can tell that first one is a fake 355 challenge. If you look at the Challenge rear wing its made of an old picnic table Image Unavailable, Please Login
the daytonas are seriously good replicas, usually built using an XJS body & engine. They can typically fetch £15K-£20K for a good one. I believe the company who built them also had a hand in the real Daytona Coupe to Spider Conversions
