    Hello all,

This is my first post. Very happy to be part of this forum and hope to gradually add more value to the community.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable source where I could find accurate production volumes by model. For example, where could I find the total number of F355s produced, in TB, TS and Spider variants, plus how many are F1 vs 6-speed, how many Challenge, Fiorano editions, etc.

I have been able to piece together some information from several sources, but I would like to think there is a better, single source that has compiled this data accurately.

    Many thanks!

Maranello Concessionaries published a printed archive of Ferrari road cars with all production numbers until 2004. These are the most accurate numbers. It doesn't break down 355s by all the categories you refer to, though it does have manual v F1 etc. The numbers do not tally exactly with the Fchat link in all cases.

Thanks for the heads-up. Do you know where I can find the Maranello Concessionaries archive? I found an old one in Amazon, but only 1959-1973.

    Thanks!

There are accurate production numbers for the whole "3x8" family (DinoGT4: 208 and 308 / All 308 variants: carbed, injection two-valve, quattrovalvoles and cousins: 208s, then 208 Turbos) and 328s + Italians cousins (= "Turbos Intercooler") for each variant, and by calendar year of production...
in Dirk-Michael Conradt's book's (in the annexes) "Autos, die Geschichte machten: die Ferrari 308 und 328", Motorbook Verlag, 1990. Yes, it is in German...
The only reservation I have is about the production figures for the year 1980, which do not seem to correlate with what it is known for the first batch of 308 2 valve injected, even if the total over the years does.
These are factory figures; the book is among the only source to correctly say, for instance, that the total production figures for the 328 is 7413, not the very-often quoted 7412: 1344 GTBs, 6068 GTSs...and ONE (1) factory-built 328 cabriolet...

Quite regularly on UK Ebay - often starting at 99p ! There's A4 size versions and a more recent A5 - inevitably I cannot find one to show today

Someone posted a few months ago that a new version is in preparation

In the line above UK RHD is total factory production

AFAIK, these are the closest thing we have to official data. However, it is not clear that these are the "most accurate" - there are several instances where chassis number counting (e.g. thread in #2) has produced higher figures - particularly in the "limited edition" cases.

There are plenty of claims referencing "official data directly from Ferrari" but have never seen any documentary evidence.

Perhaps it is self-evident, but the RHD production number is UK only - not worldwide including Japan, Australia etc.

I don't know for today's Ferrari (let's say after the year 2000), but please be reminded that the specific Japanese market variant of the cars during the seventies and eighties (for instance 308 and 328) were NOT RHD, but LHD.
The Japanese have a kind of "purist" approach and want cars as built by the factory for the Italian market, so the specific Japanese variant (after the implementation of the 17 position VIN in 1980 at Ferrari, has "J" in position 8 or "JAP" in 8-9-10) is Left Hand Drive, even if that might seem curious.

For instance, ZFFXA19JAP000083017, which is the last 328GTB ever built, is indeed a japanese market variant ("JAP" in position 8-9-10) and Left Hand Drive.

Very good point. Even with modern cars, Cornes' showroom today is still a mix of RHD and LHD.
