Another good video from Harald at Fourwheel Trader. I will send this to Harald to answer any questions and take feedback.
All electric cars just took a dump a few months ago— when Tesla dropped 40k off their car… it affected my 2021 Audi E-Tron as well- was worth like 65-70 and basically overnight, it’s worth 40-45 now…. I assume this type of thing will and has affected hybrids as well, and not just the full electric vehicles. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The hybrids don't really get affected by Tesla pricing etc. EVs will continue to be volatile as Tesla had a massive margin and can move their prices down more than any manufacturer. This is also the problem manufacturer direct sales. The dealers would discount the cars and it wouldn't be national news... The consumer would just brag to other that they got a good deal. Now... With manufacturer direct... It's national news and it effects everything across the board. Manufacturer direct works well when you have low inventory but when inventory gets high there are many many problems with it.
How many have bought a Tesla on here? When you get your brand new Tesla and two days later the trunk won’t close causing an error message, you have absolutely no one to call like a salesperson. You have to schedule a service appointment which is a nightmare for those that have used them. The brand is massively overrated.
They eat tires and suspension parts like candy. They are HEAVY. The non existent rust protection is also becoming a really big issue. Extremely cheap non-zinc hardware is also I big issue. They are not a quality product by any standard. Do they do their job effectively?..yes. do they have any longevity..none what so ever.
I don’t like making online appointments, prefer taking to someone in person. For that Tesla is horrendous, and when you get through, it’s someone who has no clue, probably flipping through cue cards. I resigned to finally scheduling repairs through the app. Easy peasy, remote service even came to my house. Evolve or die I guess.
Die is the right word. I have a friend who does forensic work here in Dubai involving fatal car crashes. After seeing how one example fell apart in an accident I would not ride in one. Local dealers here in Dubai will not accept used EVs (of any make) on trade at any price as they are virtually impossible to sell in the resale market. Hybrid Ferraris will be no different from any other EV.
We still have our first Tesla from 2014. It's had a few issues here and there but no more than any other car I've owned. Certainly paying way less for maintenance and repairs on it than the last BMW I had. No rust issues, service appointments are easy to schedule, no suspension issues, doesn't go through tires any faster than any other car I've owned.
had a tesla for a few years here, zero issues at all, expected the worst going into it but just works as intended
I've been a Ferrari owner since the '70's. I've also had a Tesla for several years. I've owned many gas cars, and several Ferrari's. I'm a DIY guy. The Tesla is so reliable the only car I have left to work on (part of the fun of owning it) is my Ferrari. Oh, and the Tesla is the most BORING car to drive I've ever owned. The Ferrari being a manual, uses al of my limbs to make it work and it's a lot of fun. It's almost impossible to get the Tesla to break traction in the wet or dry on acceleration and I would never have guessed that you don't need very wide tires to accomplish what the precise computer control of the wheel motion can accomplish. It's really hard to compare a very boring car that doesn't need service, to a Ferrari. Two completely different modes of transportation.
LOL. And manuals to boot.....with these cars you gotta buy what YOU love...and i did....and i am so glad i did.....and it's holding value or increasing....so happy....
It’s called a ‘floor’ which all exotics will reach with time. So yes, the 360 is at its floor. As is the F430 most likely. They won’t go down any further, ever. Doesn’t make them special, just makes them old enough to have reached it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
the problem is prices went above the floor in the recent asset boom, so even the 355 and 360's have room to correct to the original floor. maybe not all the way, but part way. the late model Ferraris are really screwed as they have the normal depreciation + the asset bubble correction.
Rob makes a good point. Also, i don't see ANY manual transmission Ferrari not going up in market value over the long term. They were, are and will be coveted by many.
As Joni Mitchell sang, Ferrari prices go up and down like painted ponies on a carousel. If you need to lie to your significant other and tell him or her that buying a Ferrari is an investment, you do want you have to do, but don't lie to yourself. A Ferrari is a car. It is one helluva car, but it is car, not an investment.
