Perusing the current FCA quarterly magazine Prancing Horse (4th quarter 2006) I noticed in their listings of Ferrari North America Dealer Network:

    Ferrari of Los Gatos
    66 E. Main St
    Los Gatos, CA

    WTF?

They probably haven't bothered to update the information. A lot of their stuff is fairly dated.

Typical of Ferrari of North America. Just like most everything else they do. The ads have never been corrected and FLG have not been a dealer since early 03. I see it in several publications.

That is how I explain it to most people. If I say "Silicon Valley Auto" or "the exotic dealer in los gatos", no one knows what I'm talking about. As soon as I say "the ferrari dealer" they know what's up.

Hopefully, when referring to it as FLG, the reputation of the prior owner doesn't come with it.

Single biggest mistake of the Symbolic Corp was not changing the name and many of us told them so. The theory was name recognition and I know I told them at the time that name recognition of that kind was not a plus. Didn't matter much though it was THE largest Ferrari dealer in units sold.

Ferrari of Los Gatos did have some good mechanics in their day. Steve Fremgen was outstanding. So was Craig Kenney (a hired gun to fix the narly stuff). I purchased many cars from them, and had moments with Brian (owner, not Crall), but Steve and Craig always made my cars sing. They were training a young mechanic, Nick (is last name escapes me), who also was good, MBZ then hired him, then FoSV. Unfortunately for FoSV, Nick (and Tony Palladino), left FoSV.

Nick Wahl has his own MBZ shop two doors down from Tony Palladino's place. VERY good benz tech, highly recommended.

Actually, I am old enough to remember the FLG building housed Moore Buick and then Ken Keegan Imported Cars. I grew up in Saratoga and attended the Methodist Church on the corner next to Los Gatos High. Between services, I would go to the drug store (where the RR showroom is now) for a Cherry Coke and look at all the new cars. The 1963 new Buick Riviera was the best looking car I'd ever seen until our neighbor brought home a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. That was it, I fell in love with Ferraris ever since. Imagine my surprise when my Dad told me a Ferrari dealership moved in. I started attending church much more often....
