Yes, this past April, I took my Cali to Prestige Autohaus in Walnut Creek. Torsten (owner) was easy to work with and able to schedule me in timely manner. He has the required computer to update modern Ferraris. He seemed very knowledgeable and his pricing was very fair. And he is only 15 minutes away from house!
I’ve been using Jesse at San Rafael European(formerly San Francisco Motorsports). I’ve been really happy with the results. They also come to you for free pick up and for a small fee will deliver when the car is done. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I just had my 512TR bushings pressed out by Dino in San Mateo. Knowledgeable, helpful, and quick. Spoke with "another shop" in San Carlos who tried to convince me Ferrari made magical bushings which only he had secret abilities to extract at a cost of $280/hour.
Just bought my first Ferrari F430, and looking for updated information on the best mechanics in the San Francisco Bay Area. I live on the peninsula, but open to going anywhere from SF to SJ for the best workmanship.
Welcome and congrats! Don't forget to introduce yourself in the 360/F430 group. There are a few great mechanics in the area. Are you looking for more comprehensive work, PPI, or simple maintenance?
Thanks. Will definitely find the 360/430 group. Primarily looking for maintenance purposes at this stage, though clearly would expect the relationship to extend to more comprehensive work if/when needed. Want to find someone that I trust to call anytime there is a need. I have a great independent mechanic that only works on Corvettes who services our C5 Z06, so looking for a similar resource.
I'm sure there will be plenty of other great suggestions but I've recently been taking my F430 to Trackspec Autosports in the Newark/Fremont area for all of my maintenance. It started off with just alignments and smaller things but I was so impressed with the amount of detail and care they put into their work, I trusted them to install a front end lift kit from KW and more recently a manual conversion. Both went flawlessly from their end. I take my car there now for all the regular maintenance. They also charge an incredibly reasonable shop rate as oppose to some of the more exotic oriented shops. The owner is Jon and he's a really nice guy. Mike is the mechanic to see though. They are not Ferrari specific so they might not be familiar with some of the more nuanced or major issues specific to the car but I've started seeing more Ferrari's there like 458's. Probably because they specialize in track prep and race setups.
I couldn't recommend Grand Prix Motors in Campbell more highly. Juan does great work - he's been maintaining my Mondial for the past 4 years.
I was very impressed with Thorsen at Prestige in Walnut Creek. Straight forward explanation about a brake problem on my 458. Quite reasonable repair. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I’m going to give another nod to Danny at Dino Motors in San Mateo. My 458 has had a lifetime of electrical gremlins and my recent oil change plus purchase and installation of an Antigravity battery there cost the same as a minor annual service at FSV. I’m happy to report no electrical errors since this upgrade- one that FSV categorically refused to do despite 7 years of me visiting them with the same complaints.
Big fan of Dany and Dino Motors. I wouldn't even own my car if it wasn't for him! I'm sad I can't visit his shop anymore as I'm just too far away since I moved. But, I enjoy seeing him at various shows. Great guy!
Thanks for the recommendation. Is $1100 for an oil change and flushing the brake fluid pretty typical pricing there?
