hi Joop. We should all get together for a meet before the winter overcomes us and the cars go into storage. I also have a few older cars in Seoul, 1999 e55 amg, 2001 456M GTA, 1995 Nissan 300zx (original 365hp stillen edition), etc... plus my 360 modena, 2009 jaguar xkr, range rover, etc... perhaps we can meet on a sunday early morning or night when there's no traffic? i love to see your 993 as it has been on my wishlist for some time now (993 turbo s!)
Not a Ferrari but saw this in Ulsan last Saturday night. Just wondering are there massive import taxes on cars? Or are Korean made cars that cheap? I've only seen maybe 20 non-Korean cars here. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is often in a valeting/tuning place over in Jung-Gu (near Hakseong area.) Nice car. I saw an LP640 and 458 doing serious speeds down the Ulsan-->Busan expressway at the weekend. Certainly made my Matiz feel slow!
there are tons of import cars in korea (Korea is the 5th largest importer in the world of BMW 7 series and 7th for the S class mercedes). it just happens that you're in Ulsan the hometown and factory town of Hyundai and Kia which is why you probably only see those there.
wow, you wernt kidding. went down to Busan, nice cars everywhere. Saw a bunch of Bentleys, S class and 7 series.
i was told that they have a company policy in which it's employers and execs are only allowed to drive hyundai cars, people have been fired for driving foreign cars but this could be a myth.
I don't know about being fired for driving non-Hyundais, but it could be true. I toured the Hyundai Motor factory this week and literally every single vehicle in the complex, staff car parks was a Hyundai!
I've just checked this thread and I think I know your 456. I've met your friend in front of auto gallery and He seems like wanna sell his 456 and what he said is he bought 456 from you several months ago. I saw your picture of your garage and It's just like my dream.. My garage is limited so my cars seperated in 2 places.. bundang and uijunbu..sad.. Where you live in seoul? We can meet sometime you got the time.. or If you come to bundang, Pls just give me a call. We can share our interest.. I will send you my number to your PM.
Long time since I saw anything nice in Korea, then last weekend I saw a brand new 458 in Haeundae and much more surprisingly, a Lamborghini LP670 SV in Suncheon! I'm not sure if it was a genuine LP670, or just an LP640 with a wrap and some SV decals, but either way it looked fantastic. http://www.flickr.com/photos/v15ben/7193422342/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/v15ben/7193418398/in/photostream/ I like it, but not sure about those wheels!
Hi. I'm reaching out to any F430 owners in Korea? I'm about to dive into Ferrari ownership and just needed some info on maintanence cost at the FMK dealer here? The car is a Black 2006 Spyder - full FMK maintanence history. I'm used to fairly high costs for servicing as I've just sold a 997 GT3 RS. But I understand that Ferrari's are going to cost me a lot more. I'm just not sure how much? If anyone in Seoul can give me a clue as to how much for the below items based on personal experience, either at the official dealer or other specialist repair shops in Seoul. Are there any? Or is my only option the FMK dealer? Annual Service cost? New Clutch? Brake Pads? Oil change? Any help would be much appreciated as this is a big move away from the predictable 911 for me and I can't seem to find any info in English about independant repair shops. Regards Kevin
Hi there , I don't want to steal you thread but I will be in Seoul next week and wonder if you guys can tell me what should be my key point to see there. All ideas are welcome. Thanks Tad
congrats on your new purchase. the 430 spider is a beautiful car and this is the perfect season to be driving it. post some pics so we can see too~ below are some of my thoughts/responses.
I live in the states but visit Korea several times a year. I asked my friend what the purpose was to own a nice car in Korea when you are stuck in traffic all day. He showed me the night scene near the airport
just went to Seoul like few weeks ago for holiday and visiting my old s korean friends too.. Nice place, nice girls definately ,nice customer service and for sure nice foods. saw few Ferrari's in Gangnam area ( red 430 spyder ) and quite many bentley's out there..
www.ferrariclub.kr there is ONLY ONE official owners club in KOREA approved by Ferrari headquarter. Owners who bought a new car from FMK - official importer and dealer can join the club. Different level of events supported by FMK and Ferrari headquarter you can enjoy. See you guys there!
official Ferrari Owners' Club Korea: http://www.ferrariclub.kr This is the ONLY one official Ferrari Club in Korea. 'Official' means,,,,registered and approved by Ferrari Headquarter Italy.
One more Korean ferrari owner in LA, would love to go for a joyride with other Korean Ferrari owners in LA..
Actually, I believe the correct "official" ferrari club is as follows: http://ferrariownersclubkorea.com/foc/
Five years without post here, I hope my question will find an answer ! A friend in France is looking for a 599gtb which apparently is coming from South Korea but the full VIN starts with ZFFFF60L580..... and I always thought "L" is for Central and South America specs. Can somebody confirm L is also the norm in Korea ? Thks
Yes, L-vin is correct and the present specification for Ferraris delivered new to South Korea. Up until the mid/late 2000's - so before E-, L- and T-spec cars were introduced, South Korea received A-vin cars in metric system...as did Latin America and the Middle East. You can legally import any sort of other LHD Ferrari (e.g. B-spec and J-spec) to South Korea though!
