    Hi all

I'm still on the hunt... How much is a FF warranty for 12 or 24 months from Ferrari? I'm looking at a 2012 car, the dealer says the Ferrari warranty from them is 'bumper to bumper'. so covers electrical and drivetrain.

Anyone know the cost at all?

Power15 is £3960 for 12 months + a pre purchase inspection. I bought my warranty when the car was in having a service so they didn't charge for the inspection otherwise it's around £400.

Main power15 is £1000ish more but comes with servicing included. A regular service is circa £1000

Now if your FF is due a major within 12 months the Main power15 makes sense.

If it's just had a major (which costs circa £2500) then get the power15 as that happens to have a 33% discount at renewal if you don't claim on it. The mainpower15 doesn't get the no claim discount option.

Edit - The Ferrari Used Approved warranty may be different. Get them to confirm which one they are offering. The Power15 and Mainpower15 is not the same level of cover as the original 4 year warranty or the one available to extend on vehicles up to 8 years old.

Ask them for the warranty PDF document that explains the level of cover as this also includes exclusions.

so 2 year extension, is worth circa £6k? Plus the cost of any work needed for the warranty extension?

so it seems £110k will get you a car with a 2.5 year warranty.......

my only issue is that the brake discs are showing 60% use, so 40% remaining, the dealer won't put new discs on. I wouldn't worry if they were at 40% wear, however 60% feels a bit much.

Brakes - they will be circa £4K per corner. They still have 40% life left so I can see the dealers POV.

Buy a later car, pay more - postpone the brake replacement........total long term cost probably the same.

At £110K and knowing you're probably going to need the brakes doing in the near future I'd be inclined to look at the £120K-£125K cars at Joe Macari, later model years, most likely less wear. They also have the Pano roof. A 2012 car won't.

The jury is out on what exactly the (component upgrade) differences were between early cars 2011/12 and later 2013/14 onwards. I just bought as lalt a model I could find on which I liked the spec and ended up in a 2014. However i'm reasonably sure it's a 2013 build.

Re suspension lifter - Many people say it's not required. I used mine twice this weekend to stop the car grounding on speed humps (quite aggressive speed humps it has to be said).

The 2.5 year’s warranty is appealing not too fussed about the pano roof, I prefer the external look without.

I thought replacement disc cost had come down a fair old chunk?

I'm not even sure what my budget is! I don't like the interior(or exterior) colour of that one. Thank you for all your replies, really helpful.

60% worn is quite a lot for a 23,000 mile car.

Mine was 37% worn at 21,000.
