So a question. I owned two Ferraris which I recently sold in the last year. If I was to visit the factory would they grant me access as a past owner of their cars.

I may go to Italy for my 35th anniversary and would like to include the factory visit as a part of the trip.

I know they are a bit fanatical about ownership for visitors. Think they would let me visit.

    Thanks for and info.

Oh sh*t, I didn’t even know you had to be an owner to visit and tour the factory… is that for sure? I mean, I am an owner (and previous) but always wanted to do this also and never thought once that I had to be an owner- good thing I didn’t go the last few years like I wanted to, if this is true.

If you're not an owner, you're not allowed to go inside the production buildings on the full tours offered.

You can tour the "perimeter" of the factory complex as a non-owner though. It is quite pretentious, in my opinion. But, that's just Ferrari I guess.

Interesting, thank you for the information. My wife and I are planning a long trip (5 o 6 months) to Europe in 2 or 3 years: planning to still be an owner in a few years, what a joy knowing we could visit the production buildings! At least for me, not sure my wife’s is as excited as me ;)

You have to be a current owner and you have to go through a Ferrari dealer. Also FCA has offered spots in the past. I went through the factory sponsored by my dealer and then went a second time sponsored by FCA.

My wife wasn't thrilled about the factory tour until she took it. She came out just amazed and thoroughly enjoyed it.

As an aside, she was also doubtful when I told her we were going to visit the RV and Motor Home Museum in Elkhart, IN. Again she was very pleasantly surprised. I never owned either vehicle, but the history was just amazing.

I think you are right. My wife may really enjoy it (she was not that thrilled when I bought my F but now she loves it). + I promised her we would go eat excellent pasta bolognese in the region ;)

I'm pretty sure you have to be a current owner. I remember having to produce my current vehicle registration.

My wife was not enthused about the tour either, until she experienced it. She was so impressed with the ambiance, the worker pride and the cleanliness she was taken with how great it was.
As an aside, I've been in auto mfg plants around the globe including Germany, Italy (Maserati, Fiat & Lamborghini). Nothing can compare to the Ferrari facilities. Nothing.

At the core of it, Ferrari is a car maker and not Disney land. The tours are not like an attraction and you are actually in there with workers, so I know tours get in the way! If you open it up to anybody, it would be a full time activity. I dont think Mr. Ferrari gave many tours unless it was someone special...

Same with my wife. She arranged the tour for me as a surprise. I had seen videos of the Ferrari factory so I was familiar with the facility. She really liked the whole Ferrari atmosphere and wants to go again.

    Yes.

When Mrs. Rosso and I were there some years ago, our guide was very emphatic in the Pre tour briefing that we MUST stay with the group. We MUST stay within the designated walkways. And we MUST NOT approach, speak to or interfere with the workers in any way at all.

We obeyed, of course, but that meant we did get to spend a few minutes standing about six feet away behind a rope watching a guy assemble a V12 engine by hand.

Recently went on my 3rd tour of the factory. It was still excellent btw. I think you have to be an owner or at least have a relationship with a dealer that will set the tour up for you. Simple way to find out. Just ask the dealership and they'll let you know.

Your dealer registers you for the tour. Also, in some cases the charge for the tour type you have selected maybe absorbed by your dealer

Your dealer books the tour for you. When I went, Ferrari Central Florida coordinated for me through FNA. (I stopped in and spoke to Onofrio Sr. to ask if he would sponsor it, and he graciously did.). The tour request submitted to FNA included model and VIN #’s of Ferraris owned. FNA then contacted me to confirm dates.

So the only way to go is to have a dealer book for you, even if you’re an owner?

Did both, honestly, the original/older building was more charming and interesting even if it was smaller

It amazes me this brand is so desired that they reject non-owners and make it difficult to even get a full tour.

100% correct- And I believe it has to be scheduled through your/a dealer- And you are on their schedule so you plan your trip around the date they grant you-

Would still be magical and on my bucket list

pretty much. *Maybe* F of NA corp offices could do it directly if you don't have a local dealer?

The way it works iirc, is that your local dealer refers your interest in a tour to FNA and they arrange it...I recall speaking with someone at FNA a couple of times as my tour date had to change. But your dealership usually has to "sponsor/verify" you and then FNA does the detailed legwork to get you scheduled.

However you get to do the tour, its completely worth it and the where to stay and where to eat and what else to do in the region is well detailed here in several other threads (try the search). Short version is great food is close by and several other auto museums and factories are there to be explored. I took my brother rather than my significant other and we had a great few "guy" days there.
