Seeing the factories is definitely interesting, but I'm not sure if I would fly from another continent to Europe just for it. If you have a chance and are visiting the area anyways, then its 100% a good idea!

The food in the Ferrari canteen is exceptionally good (maybe not for luxury restaurant standards but most definitely for OEM canteen standards). Don't know if that option is available for tourists though.

Got my email invitation from Ferrari, Factory tour is scheduled, very awesome.

Claude, if I may inquire, is seeing the museums part of the 2.5 hour Factory tour? We're just trying to figure out if we need to allocate separate time and tix for those. You also mention VIP, does that mean the owner Factory tour? or is there a different VIP Factory tour?

Thank you so much, greatly appreciated

Owning a Ferrari is the gateway.
Having an established relationship with a Dealership is the key.
The Dealer has to " sponsor " your tour, which translates to schedule & pay for you and your guest(s)
Having an established relationship helps, if you know what I mean
Being an active FCA member and advocate of the brand and dealership helps as well.

    YMMV

Only the Factory Museum in Maranello is included in your tour. If you have the 2.5 hour tour, then you are getting the standard factory tour. There are 3 other tours of 4, 5 and 6 hour duration.

FACTORY TOUR • Mechanical workshop • Engine assembly • Car assembly lines GES racing division: • F1 Vehicle assembly • GT Sporting Activities • Ferrari Museum • Ferrari Store Duration 2h30’

I’ve rented cars and driven all over Italy. Easy to get around, but don’t leave any valuables in the car.

Take the train into Bologna Central , walk across the street and Rent-A-Car, enjoy the drive to Maranello.

Take the back roads it’s more fun…

And don’t drive like an American. It will be obvious very quickly Americans do not understand driving- at all.

Drive very aggressive, the Italians drive like it is a race. Stay out of left lane unless you are faster!

We fly into Bologna tonight/tomorrow. Unfortunately I am Ferrariless so no factory tour for me, but museums yes ( another check off the bucket list).....My Uncle owns a TR would of he been able to get a tour arranged for me, never really considered it?........I love driving in Italy. Last year in Italy we played spot the Americans/Canadians by the way the kept hogging up the left lane.........lol

No, your uncle would have to be on the tour and then taken you as the 1 guest he is allowed. The owner has to be present, so you didn't miss out.

My highlight of the tour was at the end seeing the LaFerrari successor being tested on the Fiorano racetrack!
    Was there last Friday.

I remember after the factory tour , there was a second group of a few “ clients” that got to see the V-12 line. It was reported to be on another level / or possibly building. Any intel on expanded visits ?

Exactly, After the 2.5 hour tour, a small group of 6-7 left with another Ferrari host..
It possibly could have been completely random..

I would suspect that in 6 hours - 3 will be consumed with food and beverage.... I've been 3 times, and while its always fun and interesting to see the factory... after a while its a bit boring... the Clienti, and GES are always fun...

Yes, I agree. I've been twice and the first time was absolutely thrilling. The second was good, but it that "been there, done that" feel. I had a chance to go this September, but passed since it was the same 2.5 hour tour.

I would defintely take any of the extended tours, and if it's the 6 hour tour, I can spend 3 hours at lunch! :D

I brought my dad for the six hour tour last year. I'd guess it was about an hour-and-a-half at lunch (a very nice lunch at Il Cavallino, which we followed up with dinner at Ristorante Montana :D).

We were able to see a lot of the facilities, including the foundry, the V8 line, the paint shop, the F1 floor, plus a trip to Modena to see Scaglietti and the Icona plant. It was our first visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed nerding out and soaking it all in.

So anyway, if you have the opportunity, take it! And choose a guest who will appreciate it. I am very grateful that I could share it with my dad.
