I traded our 488 for our 812. No regrets.

However, I then swapped a couple of other vehicles for an F8. So best of both worlds! 812 and F8. Contrary to some here, I much prefer the F8 to the 488.

There is no substitute to the experience of the 812. A total delight to the senses. If I could only have one, I would keep the 812 hands down. But since we are able to have both... :)

I traded my 488 spider for 812SF. I miss the playfulness and fun aspects of 488. But I love the 812 even more. It’s magnificent. Looks really good, sounds the best and drives super fast (pun intended). Best to have both V8 and V12 no question but for me having the 812 felt like a better package.

I own both 488 and 812. Perfect stablemates. I chose not to trade or sell my 448 (which I bought first) for that reason. And, every time I drive one of the cars, I come to appreciate both of them even more for how different they are in achieving the same thing, which, ultimately, is performance resulting in bliss. When anyone asks me which car I like the most, I tell them "whichever one I'm driving."

I back to back tested 812 and 488, so I could make my F8 decision. Loved the accessibility of the v8's performance and overall more playful nature. The 812 was just a bit scary.

Having got impatient and just collected my 812, I'm totally smitten by it. Yes, its still scary and I'll probably never have the ability/opportunity to totally wring its neck, but its a machine that you can just click with and get into a driving flow, when conditions prevail.

I guess each drive will get easier, as I progress up the new car learning curve.

    I can't think of a better pair :):)

I actually typed my first response above, then read you wrote almost the exact same thing.

    It definitely was :D

I've just repeated every other comment and didn't need to, as you have also put it perfectly.

Had a chance to drive the F8 extensively for the first time on track at Daytona last week during the Corso Pilota Evolution and Challenge courses (mostly in Evolution as we drove the Challenge cars almost exclusively in the latter school).

I found the F8 very powerful (like my Pista) on track, with incredible acceleration and an ultra-smooth gearbox. I also prefer the small steering wheel, especially at high speeds. During a hot lap with a Ferrari pro, my wife hit 190mph on the banked track in a stock F8. During the skid pad exercise in the F8, I actually shredded the rear tires...

The F8 proved to be very capable despite the truly unfair comparison to the 488 Challenge EVO cars...which were incredible. We were constantly reminded by our instructors not to try and drive the F8 on track like the Challenge cars, especially through the high speed turns, or “bad things could happen”.

The Challenge cars were amazing and very confidence-inspiring, even at the speeds we were driving (up to 180mph/290kph).

Overall, it was an unbelievable experience...one that I would highly recommend to every Ferrari owner.

I have a thread on how I miss my 488. With a chance to get a V-12 without GPF, I was under time pressure to get it ordered. Very thankful that I have the 4 wheel steering. I really like the 812 but really miss my 488. I have been on the search for one but only want one like my previous one was optioned. I should have not traded the 488 in but just kept it. Hind sight is always 20/20. I have had several 430's, a 458 and then 488 and have discovered I'm just a V-8 Ferrari guy. I just like the way they drive, accelerate and my desire to just keeping on driving. I just picked up a C-8 and this has reinforced my love for the mid engine. My advise is to keep the 488 and add the 812.

    Maybe a Spring 2021 allocation for a F8.

I hope that from plate attachment is the detachable, no screwed one. For some reason, I fear it's not.

It is the screwed one, they come with the car. My dealer didn’t drill my bumper but they left me the plate in storage compartment.

That is a very attentive and thoughtful gift! I was certainly hoping that it was the Carbonio detachable plate mount.

Makes no difference as its got the adaptive cruise control with the box in the S-duct. Spoils the whole front.
