Which would you choose?
I would personally choose the Coupe over the Spider at any given time. F430 Coupe just have better curves and I'm really not a big fan of those roofs when its up. I'm hoping to see a hardtop convertible from Ferrari soon!
I was asked by Ferrari when I bought my 360 what I wanted to see in the cars. That was one of the things I suggested. It would be hard on a mid engine car cause the hardtop would be in the engine compartment. I would get the spyder and I did a year ago. All my 8 cylinder purchases have been soft tops. You hear the engine better with the top down.
I went with the coupe since I live in Houston and it's too hot here. I had a convertable Viper and couldn't enjoy it because of the weather.
Gotta be a Spider for me. I've always loved convertibles. Even when it's in the 90s I keep the top down and the AC cranked. I drove to work with the top down this morning (52* F) and it felt nice.
Another reason why I like Coupe is that I spend a lot of time doing my hair and I don't want to get it messed up because of those heavy winds when on top down!
Yeah, convertibles shows who's on the inside. So if you're a dork, you're going to look like a dork . That was Top Gear's deciding factor too. If you look like a dork, pick the coupe, otherwise the convertible. I hear Clarkson has a G Spider on order, so he must obviously fancy himself pretty slick
I like the looks of the Spider with the top down, but rarely drive with the top down (paying attention to virtually every dermatologist on the planet). So, I have a convertable with the top up all the time and lines much less attractive than a coupe. I bought a 360 coupe and then a 430 coupe. I have long hair (do not spend any time on it at all), do not see myself as a "dork", but also not interested in "being seen" (for whatever effect), and when I park a convertable (I own a SL 55 and Lexus 430) and the top is down (my wife likes it once in awhile), I have to put the top up everytime we park to avoid theft and tempting vandals who love to mess with open cars. Best
I didn't realize just how much you're "out there" when driving a Ferrari convert. As a result, I'm one of those guys going from F430 Spider back to F430 coupe. Looking forward to a little more anonymity!
The coupe is lighter and stiffer, and since the F430 is all about performance, the choice is clear for me. The coupe is also more appropriate (safer and quicker) for the occasional track day. Gary
coupe!!!!! come on just look at it!!! its amazing!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think both cars are amazing. My 360 is a coupe and I have a 993 Cab for open-air driving. Living in California, we get a lot of top-down days. While I'd certainly love to have a Ferrari coupe and a spider, that's not "in the cards" just yet. Frank
gotta be the coupe for me, sleeker, spider looks slightly boxy, performance wise though it has been proven on this rare occasion that theres little if any performance difference that you usualy get when taking the roof off a car. Definetely the coupe though, alot mroe sexy, the 360 spider though now thats sexy.
If you choose a coupe over a convertible because you are concerned about what other people think about your looks, then you truly are a dork, no matter what you look like!
Being bald or having lost lots of hair looks REALLY SAD in a spider but then its down to your personality it wouldn't bother me a bit
