No, no...wrong! When you find the right car that IS the right time! The mental leap to "go for it" is the self-imposed invisible barrier that needs to be overcome. Later, MARK
Any excuse and I'll be there! Hey - I have a meeting in Brussels on the afternoon of January 16! Cheers, MARK
For the late 70's, 80's and 90's cars red will always be the most popular and for that easier to sell.
Are you seriously interested? Simon is in Africa right now, but I know he's been thinking of selling his beautiful black 328 for a 12-cylinder car for some time now - the problem being that he's struggling to find a buyer willing to give him the right amount of money for his car.
Some Ferraris don't look good in red: think 612 Scaglietti and 456 GT. These will always be easier to sell in blue or black. Others (550/575) look good in red but many people prefer them in other colors - there is a high number of blue/black and even silver or yellow 550/575s out there, and resale prices seem to be fairly independent of the color (only yellow and green ones are remarkably cheaper). Finally, I always thought the F355 and the F360 look really fantastic in black - mean, menacing and aggressive. However, there seem to be very few out there (especially the F355 spider - it's so beautiful in black that it hurts). I wonder why?
Lack of money prevent me from being serious in this car, but a black 328 GTB, would do very nice as a first Ferrari. I don't really care about resale value. I buy to own, not to sell
buying a new Ferrari is already a big, and sometimes "extravaganza" step. Buying it in a "different" color instead of red is another even BIGGER step for most people. as you know what I mean
I agree with Andrea that modern Ferrari's are less bound to the red colour. The 360, 456, 550M and 612 look fantastic in different colours. I don't think that there will be a bigger depreciation for a black 360 or 550. I even think that the depreciation on a red 456 is bigger than a blue, grey or black one.

I think that he will open a thread as soon as he gets back. How is your 355? Thinking about an upgrade? Or will you keep it for a few more years? What happened to Matthias? I have not heard from him since Andermatt. Does he still drive the 360M?
No upgrade mood today. It's too freakin' frozen here!!!! A car has to be flat and slim like a 512 BB, a countach, or a 355. Will stay away from modern cars like blown frogs. Gallardo would be o.k. but the rear is too much LEGO for me - LOL ... Matthias is always very busy. I'm not authorized to post about his current car. (additonal car!!!) Should be a surprise @coming meetings or something like that. As a riddle: Wolfgang would be too envious! cinque
Hehe Continue waiting for the "right" car to show up. I'm still not gonna jump in it immediately... always like to aim a bit higher... but I'm not going to wait 'till I'm 35 anymore either. Looking for a compromise, the first one doesn't HAVE to be a 355... Like I said before, still looking to buy a own house too. I want it all... You definately will all know when THE day is finally there Sttt... I've went to take a look at the 328GTS for sale at Beerens in Antwerp yesterday
Alex, In my humble opinion, Buy the car that you really want and not another one only to have a ferrari, because the problem will arise when you have to pay a big amount $$$ for a repair bill for a car that you did'nt like in the first place, maybe from then on you gonne hate that car. So best is wait till your 355 spider will come.Rob
Don't get me wrong... Like I said before, I really love EVERY Ferrari. The 355 just happens to be VERY high at my favourites ranking I certainly wouldn't hate any Ferrari... not even after a very expensive repair bill... I would hate the bill, yes, but not the car I guess that's what still frightens me... unexpected high repair costs for who knows what hidden reason... Someone I know (not very well, only met him once) bought an old Maserati a few years ago... he drove it a few months, had fun with it, maintaned it the way it should, then something unexpected happened, major mechanical failure he said... the car still is in his garage next to the house right now... waiting for better days...
