Hello, I had an accident in my Ferrari F8 in which the airbags in the doors detonated, I am repairing the car and I tried to start it and it does not start, I already activated the emergency button that is located on the side of the battery and if it works The starter works but the engine does not start, it seems that the fuel pump is not working and I checked the fuse box and everything appears to be fine, can someone help me with a solution?

Hi Jorge, welcome and sorry you are joining with unfortunately circumstances. Hope you are okay! Do you have access to an appropriate code reader?
    Kind regards

If you hit hard enough to deploy the airbags, I bet you triggered an inertial switch in the fuel system. I don't know if the F8 specifically has one, but most modern cars do.

That's what the button on the right side of the battery is for - apparently it did not solve the issue, according to first post.

Most higher end cars that suffer accidents whereby the airbags deploy will trigger what they call a 'pyro' fuse to prevent a fire if started. I'm not sure if the F8 has one or where it is (usually hidden in the bowels of the car) but that could be your problem.

People often get past this temporarily by powering the starter directly but all this would confirm is the health of the engine. The fuse would have to be replaced to use the car properly.

I hope "not repair it without reporting it and nobody knows it was in an accident"...

I don't have any direct experience with Ferraris, thank goodness. But most cars don't start after you crash them. YMMV.

What do you mean by “and if it works”? Does it sometimes not work?

Most modern Ferraris have many fuse boxes. Did you find fuses specific to the fuel pumps or engine management system. Some Ferraris don’t even have fuel pump fuses.

Did you try asking on the 488 forum or the Technical Forum? This sounds like a model-specific question. Do you have a Workshop Manual with wiring diagrams? Some websites have 488 manuals advertised, but they are incomplete.
