    Hey All,

Since acquiring my f355 a few years ago, friends/relatives/clients always feel the need to get me Ferrari gear here and there. I wouldn't consider myself a huge guy (6' and about 185) by any means, but Ferrari's version of XL is about the equivalent to about a medium?

I've got two polos, and two t-shirts, both Ferrari, no knock offs, and I basically can't wear them without feeling like a juice-head trying to prove something. I pretty much only use the t-shirts as workout shirts and the polos I stretch out as much as possible before wearing one on a drive.

Anyone else have issues with this? With normal clothing I'll typically fall in the L-XL range and a dress shirt would be a 17.5/35 with an athletic cut. Are Italians just that small???

There are very different benchmarks for clothes sizes (inc. shoes) in the US and Europe. Even within Europe there are differences. You also find differences between brands.

I could be an M in London, go west to be an S in New York or go east to get an L in Paris. And they'll all be physically the same sized t-shirt.

Find an international clothes size comparison chart that shows the differences between European countries, especially Italy vs France vs UK.

XXL Jacket purchased from the Ferrari store = M+.........A hard and expensive lesson. Now that they have opened a USA Ferrari store stocked hopefully in american sizes i will definatly spend some time checking it out.

Thanks for the replies on this. Glad I'm not the only one having issues. I'll have to check the US F store to see if things are different.

Totally agree, I'm in the same dress shirt size as the OP and frequently struggle with Ferrari clothes. One thing I've noticed (maybe just me), but is the arm length on the t-shirts getting shorter as well? Perhaps it just goes back to the overall size issue but some of the newer shirts barely come down to mid bicep.

I actually find the stuff to fit very nice. I'm 5'11, 155 lbs and find the medium fine.

Most american stuff is vanity sized in addition to have a baggy cut. For instance, a Brooks Brothers polo in medium is huge around the gut for me, but the polos from the fashion houses (Paul Smith, Billy Reid, even J Crew) fit me perfectly in a medium.

The sleeves are getting shorter, because that's the style currently. For sure the slimmer cut in fashion today is only going to fit well if you have very little gut.

I normally wear a L in men's polo shirts, but always need to get XL at the Ferrari store. 6'2" 175lbs.

Maybe they should just mark the sizes "V8" or "V12". ;)

Like the cars, you have to try them on to see if they fit. :p

Actually, I have trouble with most clothing lines.
Especially shirts. If I get a neck that fits, the middle is a tent.
And the arms are always too short.
I get a picture of them trying to fit a T-Rex.

And the last time I bought slacks at Sears, I got three different pairs, all the same stock number, and they were all made differently.
Not just different sizes: built to a different pattern.
(Which is one reason that was the last time I bought at Sears.)

I have a few polos that are short in the torso, always coming untucked. The rest fits okay but I do suspect they were tailored for shorter folks.

FWIW, In my experience the sizes are just a starting point...

The Zipper on your Ferrari windbreaker will break. The good news is that you will now be able to share it with the most rotund members of your family, the bad news is that it will now behave more like a sail than a windbreaker.

Your Polo shirt will shrink from a Large to children's size in three washes. It won't matter though, because the color will have long since bled out.

The Puma sneakers will continue to be Puma Sneakers, so that shouldn't be a problem, its just that whatever size they say they are, add or substract a size or two, depending on the day you order them..

    AS for accessories....
your I phone case is great for anything, except protecting your I phone.

Your Ferrari watch will have its own interpretation of the relationship between the hour hand and the second hand

Your Ferrari travel mug will leak if you put anything hot in it...

In short, the best way to insure that the product you buy will be hopelessly defective is to put the prancing horse on it...

    :D
