A few years back, I am personally aware of, concerns that the detail accuracy of Ferrari's own restoration work was not up to the highest standards. It may have improved since then.

My car was only certified. I'm very happy with that process, thought it was worth the money and I love visiting Classiche in Maranello, which I have now done about 5 times. It is great to have contacts in the factory and feel more part of the whole family and there are always spectacular cars to be seen.

The workmanship that is done under the Classiche banner is very good. I have it on good authority, however, that the large majority of the work is not done by the factory itself but by local restoration specialists. Having seen the factory facilities, I can believe that story.

even if the work is contracted out, the channel back to the factory could be well worth the effort... there a many bits and pieces that may need to be sourced, what better place to search, than the place that originally sourced them

if you do an advanced search on classiche specifically in the Vintage forum of this site, you will find many threads dealing w/ Classiche.

I think the value depends on what kind of car you are seeking certification. To put it politely, Classiche has had its share of growing pains. An uninformed future buyer may be comfortable relying solely on classiche certification, many others would not.
