Yes - that was the main menu to which I was referring. The code I got is for the PS3. I don't know if it holds good for PS2 & Wii
Can anyone answer my question about when I will unlock the F40 (which place (europe, NA, etc?)) and how much does it cost?
I did the Trophy race & unlocked the F40, F50 & Infineon. Be sure not to come in less than third of all three races otherwise you will not be awarded a new car. As for the cost I think it was 40,000 points.
What car did you do it with? I'm currently doing the Trophy with a 348 Challenge, I'm almost done Silverstone, first in both.
hmm....I tried that and when I hit it, it just kept switching between the different options (showroom, etc). Guess I'll keep trying.
I've been trying to figure out what causes you to unlock which cars. I sort of think you win the Trophy cars in the same order regardless of what cars you use. I also sort of think you unlock cars in Challenge mode in a certain order regardless of series, but I am not so sure about either of these. I was expecting to unlock a car for coming in first overall in the Italian Challenge series, but I didn't unlock anything. That really confused me. Maybe it was because I didn't get max points, but I'm not sure. Here's what I've got cars I unlocked so far and how. Maybe this will help crack the pattern: 599 GameSpot -- cheat code 575 GTC -- arcade mode on easy difficulty 348 Challenge -- First race in Italian Challenge 355 Berlinetta -- First race in European Challenge (Monza) 550 GTC -- I think it was from the first race in North America Challenge (Homestead) 512 M -- I think it was the fourth race in Italian Challenge (Vallelunga) 512 S -- I think it was the fifth race in Italian Challenge (Mugello) 348 TB -- Trophy series in 348 Challenge (I got first, first, first in the series) 355 Challenge -- Trophy series in 348 Challenge 360 Modena -- Trophy series in 355 Berlinetta (I got first, LAST, first in this series but still won the series overall) 360 GT -- Trophy series in 355 Berlinetta
True about the many new tracks, but I consider that a strength: I always love it when a new game uncovers some obscure race track, that actually exists. Love the fact that we can drive Mont Tremblant, Paul Ricard and some of the Italian classics like Mugello etc. I haven't seen Fiorano (the wholy grail!) yet, but I'm sure it will some kind of trophy to unlock. As I mentioned, I'm having problems with my shifter as well. Not sure whether it is a mechanical problem or an issue with the game. I have a similar problem in F1CE: Downshifts might or might not happen when I press the button. Same for when I try the sequential stick. Yes, the learning curve is steep, particularly on tracks I don't know yet. But then again I'm planning on keeping this game until there is a PS4. So for quite a while.
When downshifting if you here a loud 'clunk' and the car doesn't shift it means you are shifting when the revs are too high. You have to really stand on the brakes and slow the car down faster than you are shifting so the that the revs are more matched to the drivetrain speed. When you get that mastered the car downshifts fine.
Ok, understood. How is that handled in real life? Does the car "memorize" that you wanted to downshift and shift when the revs are low enough or does it simply ignore the downshift command (like the game)?

As you can tell I am a tad fed up with the game so here goes: 1) Anyone who has a steering wheel: can you actually steer past 90 degrees?! I have the Logitech GT wheel (PS3) and in the game you get 90 degrees and no more. 2) Does the car setup actually affect anything? Doesn't seem to matter what I do to the settings, zippo. 3) The box says 50 cars, the game hints say 22. Any clues? 4) Honestly all I want to do is screw around in some of my favorite old Ferraris. Has anyone found a short cut so you don't have to spend days trying to win these PIA races?!
1. I have the Logitech G25 wheel and it does do > 90 degrees 2. Set up matters. I tend to ride the curbs particularly at Monza and find the springs setting critical - if I use a firm setting, the car gets squirmy on me. I haven't gone into the alignment area much. Only have adjusted ride height, springs, dampers and roll bar. Ride height is important - I like to keep the rear a little higher than the front. 3. Don't know - I have unlocked a few cars only 4. Try the trophy and challenge modes to unlock cars.
Some additional thoughts on the game: - Poor replay feature - it doesn't let you pick multiple views for some reason. The system locked up at the end of the replay - I've had the system freeze up about 3 times on me at different stages. - Would love to have a telemetry capabilities recording lap times, throttle/brake settings etc - Cannot save hot laps - The cockpit view doesn't show the gear lever for the manual transmission cars. Hard to figure out what gear you are in when the race begins. I am guessing the number of downshifts when into corners and sometimes go into neutral or too high a gear. There seems to be no gear number anywhere. - Wish there were standing starts for the races - would solve the gear problem as I would start off in first - Wish there was additional customization possible: tubi exhaust, test pipes, lightweight wheels, etc. Would be really cool for the modern Ferrari road cars that we normally drive. - I wish I could use my name instead of Player - stupid
I heard this month they will come out with a "fix" to download. Hopefully it addresses some of the issues. My biggest issue: I'm not fast enough...
Has anyone got any experience with the Playseat Evolution seat? --> http://store.videogamecentral.com/playseat-a1gp-evolution.html I want to buy something soon. My poor back aches with my current hillbilly setup.
Interesting about the G25. You do mean the steering wheel on-screen correct? Not the actual Logitech wheel? Here is the answer from the publisher: "As with most racing cars, the steering lock of the wheel if reduced when compared to a normal road car. It would make the driving and correction of over steer very difficult if you had to make large movements with the wheel." Sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me. If it was just the 430 I could probably see the sense, but the road cars do that also. As far as cars: "There are 50 different cars that can be played in Ferrari Challenge." I am going to assume there are more than the 22 they talk about in the game hints. I honestly don't have time to play that much to unlock the cars. I am hoping the publish the unlock codes like the 599. Someone may be getting a FC game cheap. This is a very frustrating game that doesn't seem to lend itself to casual play.
