Good day, You will need to do some research and perhaps contact Newman to see his thoughts on whether this tool case (pic taken from BaT Auction) is correct for a later BB. I had though that all BB's had the briefcase style tool case and the tool "pouch" was for BBi's. However it may be possible that the very late BB's did come with a tool pouch instead of the briefcase style. Cheers, Image Unavailable, Please Login
That tool kit can work for a BBi but only 82-83 as the pliers have blue grips in 84. And take the carb tool out of it.
That's the later "general" repro kit the Ferrari sold thru the UK dealer. Tells are the logo screwdrivers, and modern grip pliers. Carb tool and oil wrench were added. Spare plugs ride in the jack bag. No spark plug wrench just use the pliers!!! So it's real, but not at all model specific.
As to value I have sold REAL 1976 - 77 tool rolls like this at that $1400 level. Plain screwdrivers and Everest wrenches...for a 'glass 1975 car When available, these rolls sold new for about $375USD, thru Ferrari Classic Parts UK
If this tool roll was for a 512 BBi, it seems to be missing its zipped enveloppe with the color of the seats.
Ferrari toolkits - I find this stuff interesting. Why? I really need to get out more but just at the moment...
Attached are images from the factory BB 512i Parts Manual n.230/82, they show contents but not in great/accurate detail. It is probably the same illustration used in the BB 512 manual, note the Weber carb key. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And that will match the interior color of the BBi's it came from. Should have an embossed horse on each side.
This toolkit can works for a BBi and for other, but by no means original for the BBi. Pliers is incorrect, so are the screwdrivers and wrenches...
Hello 375+, I come back incidentally on post #10 since you declared to have one or 2 zipped pouches for 512 tool kit. I am looking for one currently. Please tell me if available or where I could get it? Thanks a lot, Cheers, Jean-Paul
Hello Jean-Paul, Sorry but I sold them shortly after that posting. Perhaps check with VetroresinaNL? Best of luck to you!
Ah! But thanks. I just mailed a request to Vetroresina NL; let's see. I could reproduce one since I imagine the material is not tanned leather but "camoscio" as Italian say. Witt a zip and 2 embossed cavallini. But I have no model to copy, so better to find one, if any... Thanks again,

Thanks Lagunacc, I know the one on classic ferrari parts but 5500GBP means 700€ delivered in EU including Xrate, duties and shipping. For such a simple envelope it is too expensive for me. Coppola I will see. But it is not « so many » vendors at reasonable conditions, IMO.
You can always negotiate. It won't be 1-200 euros though. Most "vendors" are flipping stuff picked up on local classifieds, Ebay, facebook, so do what they do and look there. Also, it might be the same size as the F355 case for the targa cover - which can be found for about 100 eur or cheaper in any case. It wouldn't be totally correct even if the same size, but thought I'd mention it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for your follow up. Since having worked for a large leather good's company for many years, my manufacturing cost estimate, zip included, is around 10€. So that I feel rather bad paying over 100/200€ for such a pouch. The 512BBi pouch size is 32x23cm. Good idea about the 355 pouch (targa in Italian means license plate so I don't see what for it is, but it is my poor English...). Will try to identify it on sale, and later emboss 2 Cavallini recto/verso. Cheers,
It's for storing the cover for the targa top - see pic. The actual 512BB pouch would be more but you might find the targa cover pouch for 100 eur. They might not be the exact same size but they're close. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Indeed I just saw that and couldn't imagine that the cover could be folded in such a small envelope, but let's see what can be found through Google/eBay/etc.
