Early this morning while sitting in traffic on I-270 just north of DC, a kid pulls along side of my Diablo in a bright red Honda, sporting a yellow Ferrari fender badge, same as my 512TR. Has anyone else ever encountered a ricer, flying Ferrari colors, thats funny stuff .Isn't that Illegal ha' ha'.

Well I needed a good laugh this morning sitting for an hr in 1st gear !

Yep, the Ricers are pretty funny with their stick-on labels and coffee can exhaust systems. He may have a Lambo badge next time... have you checked your Diablo lately?

In Houston, I used to see a Hispanic kid in a Caviler sporting SF badges on his fenders every other morning on my way to work. He also had a large Michael Schumacher decal on his rear window. Yea, it was riced out but still a true Tifosi at heart.

i have Scuderia Ferrari sticker badges on my Sebring; right on the fenders, one on each side... Although the term "ricer" is STILL offensive to me, i'm perfectly content to be LABELED like that, if that's necessary... There's nothing wrong with showing your love, support and passion for something, even if you can't afford the real thing...

Yep, nothing wrong with being displaying your passion.

I wish I had a picture of this car I saw the other day. It was a bright green sedan with $ signs painted all over it - Not a crappy paint job either, someone spent some real money on this. It also had $ stickers all over the windows. On the back where the badge would be, it had a plastic $100 bill. The rims were huge chrome with $ sign valve stem caps. Of course, bass was pumping out of every crevice. It was classic.

The other day I was driving out to Palm Springs and saw a Toyota MR2 Spider whith Ferrari badges.

In Berlin, there was a black Opel with some 348ish body kits and Ferrari emblems, except they didn't even bother to remove the Opel emblems.

About a year ago I saw a black VW Golf with Scuderia shields on either of his front fenders.

Not Ferrari related, but I saw a Honda Accord with a BMW logo on the deck lid where it would be if it was on a real BMW.

NNO, I did the same thing as you with my old car! (a Mercury Sable)

I also had the Ferrari shield on the front of my old scooter.

In Europe there's plenty of putt-putt cars with scudetto stickers on them - likely F1 fans.

The worst I have EVER seen was a red 97 CAMARO conv't owned by a b-ball player at my college - he had it all 'riced' out, with Ferrari badges, wheel centers and had vinyl decals that read 'Ferrari Edition' on the fenders and rear, with a big yellow cavallino. It was horrid. Worst of all, dumb kids at school would talk about "the kid with the Ferrari." Ugh.

The oddest one I've seen was a mid-90's Cadillac Fleetwood outside Tacoma, WA that had been rebadged (incl the hood ornament) as a Mercedes-Benz. ?

Gives me the creeps too. Showing love is one thing, but that's going a little far. Shields on a Ducati, ok. Shields on a Chrysler? Um, no.

Claz, what's the difference between a Ducati and a Sebring (besides the obvious)...? Is it because a Ducati is Italian...? Is it because it's a SPORTY mode of transportation like a Ferrari...? Someone explain this to me, please... Why does it "CREEP" you folks out that i have Scuderia badges on my car, but it wouldn't creep you out if i had put them on a Ducati...

When i had my Ninja, i put them on there; was that okay, or is the Ninja not cool either...? Someone please let me know; enlighten me, please, so i can be "in the know" with everyone else and i won't have to worry about "creeping" anyone else out...

    Sheesh.

I don't see what the big deal is.... The guy loves Ferrari & shows it - I'd give him a high five.

I mean come on, the guy has a prancing horse on his chest! The badge on the Sebring is the least of his concerns. :)

Leave the shields, Carbon. I think they look nice. I think they're ok on anything when used as a symbol of admiration and support for the brand.

Thanks, Chris; i certainly had no intention of taking them off merely because a few people were "CREEPED OUT" by them... i love Ferraris; i'll own one, one day... and if, for some reason, i have another car besides my Ferrari when i have it, THAT car will have Scuderia badges, as well... ****, maybe i'll put Scuderia badges on my SNEAKERS, too; that way, SO MANY people will be COMPLETELY "CREEPED OUT" that they'll leave me alone and i'll have more time to drive and enjoy my Ferrari... :)

Yeah, that sounds good to me...

For one, the Ducati has similar lineage to Ferrari. Second, Ferrari doesn't manufacture motorcycles. So, in my opinion putting the badges on motorcycles, boats, planes, or modes of transportation other than automobiles is a little less creepy. Putting badges on your non-Ferrari car (Lamorossa, Carborossa, or other) is like having Angelina Jolie's likeness tatooed on your girlfriend or wife's a$$. Be proud of what you drive and sleep with.

What is cool to one person, may not be cool to another. That's why there are cars like the Honda Element. And why there are bands like the Bee Gees. Despite the fact that I don't like it, if I were you I wouldn't care. Don't worry about being "in the know". Do what makes you feel good, regardless of who likes it or doesn't like it.

Clax... i'm very proud of what i drive; i get compliments almost daily... It's a great car and quite attractive with the top down... The darker, "rosso barchetta"-ish red is a nice touch and compliments the tan interior... i love that it has real wheels rather than ugly hubs with hub caps... The 6 cylinder, 24 multi-injected valve engine gets me where i need to go, without being late... :)

Being "proud" of "what" i "sleep with" sounds creepy... i'll leave my reply to that for another day and another thread...

Putting a few Ferrari stickers on my Chrysler is nothing like tattooing Angelina Jolie's likeness on a girlfriend's or wife's derriere - first of all, the stickers can be removed; secondly, my Chrysler doesn't care that i fantasize about driving a Ferrari while i'm inside of it. :)

Lastly, i'm not worried about being in the know, i was being sarcastic... i just thought it was a little odd that some folks found it "CREEPY" that i've got Scuderia badges on my car, showing my love and support for the marque...

I suppose I should restate the sentence to read "be proud of what you drive and whom you sleep with", obviously referring to your girlfriend/wife. Better?

Aside from my grammar faux pas, I don't see the difference between putting the stickers on your car, or Lamarossa's car, or a Honda. I think all of it is a little over-the-top. But, to each his own.

Comparing Scuderia stickers on the Sebring to that pile of crap Lamarossa is a bit of a stretch.
