    Hi Guys,

We have just finished a project, which simply answers three frequently asked questions about the 458: the exhaust note, valve control and ride height. The result is stunning and we thought you guys might whant to see the difference we achieved with Novitec sport springs and spacers.

There are many reasons why Maranello are forced to deliver their cars with a ride height that looks awkward and isn’t optimal. We have already detailed them in one of our blog posts and talk about the reasons why it is worth investing in sport springs and lowering the car’s body.

Just take a look at the difference below:

You can check out all tech details in this set up on our blog post where we also explain why we decided to mix the Novitec exhaust with the Capristo pipes and remote control.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

    Hi Golattus,

Yes, Novitec do offer a sport spring set for the 458 Speciale.

The important thing to note here is that it’s not the springs themselves that facilitate lowering of the car. Your car can be lowered on the standard springs just fine. However we think you’re taking a risk in the sense that, the stock spring rate is typically too soft to keep the cars underbody and chin off the ground when under load, at the reduced ride height. This problem becomes more critical the more you lower the car. This is why we always fit new springs on a Ferrari when we lower them. It eliminates the problem and the car's handling is materially improved as well as looking great.

There is one more thing to remember here: at the reduced ride height, on many cars the original wheels can look a little too far inset in the wheel well. In fact, lowering the car exaggerates the pre-existing inset of the of the wheels. So this is why we often bundle sport springs with spacers like the car 458 in the example above. In effect these spacers work with the springs to “fill out” the gaps in the arches.

Let us know if you would like to discuss this in more detail. We are happy to help.
