    Guys
This is one annoying feature, Ferrari made a great rear glass that goes all the up and down with the top is closed but when you open the top and want to block the air from the back, the rear window only goes up 2 inches????

That is one annoying thing, why would they limit it from going all the way up and acting as a real wind deflector ?

And the worst part is that because it’s considered to be a built in wind deflector, no one sells a wind deflector for this car.

Anyone has a solution, maybe another product and or maybe a bypass to the window so we can close it all the way up even with the top down ?

It is designed to do this. As the rear window gets higher, the turbulence in the cabin becomes greater hence why it goes to a predetermined position resulting in the lowest turbulence in the cabin. Honestly, I haven't found it to be a hindrance at all.

I think that if you raise the side windows and the window in the back would go higher than you would have no wind at all. Just like any other convertible.

It sounds weird that only at 2 inches height the wind will not enter from the back vs a full height.

Think about the wind resistance on the glass if it was fully up at 200 MPH. Also never had a problem. Maybe the convertible life isn’t for you

Come on guys, the question was valid especially if you look at the 430 Spider and the very large wind deflector it has. But, it is a much different body design than the 458....

I’ve had several Ferrari’s, r8, 911, corvette c6, c7and SL63 all convertibles and all had a proper wind deflector that was doing a better job at high speeds.

I love the 458, it’s my best car ever but I’m positive that the glass deflector is not 100% - they could have done a better job and or choice.

I also watch couple Of review videos that pointed the same issue.

    Nonetheless love my 458....

Not to drudge up an old thread but I had the same question! But also suspected that it was by design
