The euro vs US spec FHP 575s had a different ride, w the euro cars lower ever so slightly.

I was wondering, was there any difference between Euro/US/rest-of word alignment and ride height specs between the 456GT or M?

Every US spec M I have been tends to sit 'high' in the rear and I wonder if that is a US spec thing or a thing where they didnt re-set the height correctly after rebuilding rear shocks.

    Appreciate the guidance

    No difference in the WSMs.

Another thing to consider the 456 is a 4 seater. It was intended to have another 300-500lbs riding in the back. That changes the rideheight and Ferrari probably set the car up for this. No one talks about how the car would be set-up if used as just a 2 seater. Suspension is always a compromise. A performance car can be set-up for how you use it. So the factory sets safe alignment and rideheight in the car's purposeful operational envelope. If you know what you are doing you can optimize for your needs.

FBB- That is why the 456/456M came with self-leveling rear suspension. Not to say slightly lowering the rear would not help.

question related but unrelated. I'm looking to add 19" wheels to my 456. I've read many threads on here and other sites and I'm pretty sure it'll be alright if not spectacular - with 325/30 on the rear, and 255/35 on the front BUT no one ever discusses the offset. the wheels i'm looking at have front offset 28. Again i'm pretty sure it'll be fine and not rub/scrape. Can anyone with 19's give me their offset, and if everything is ok?
    thanks
and I will post this question in other 'appropriate' sections as well

Several 456/456M owners run Novitec NF2s that are 9" in front and 12.5" in the rear. Here are the specs. These have worked well with 255/35 19 fronts and up to 355/25 19 rears on 456s and Maranellos.

    Novitec NF2 (Not OEM) Five Spoke, 19”, 5 X 108 mm

    Front 9J X 19 ET 28 mm, Rear 12.5J X 19 ET 51 mm

Maximum wheel width for the 325/30 19 MPS4S is 12" if they are NF2s, so likely a little too narrow. Most NF2 owners run 25 mm spacers in the rear, none in the front.

Last time I was there and kind of had the run of the place they were building 10 cars a day and had two alignment racks. One was semipermanantly used to store stuff. The other I never saw used. When we aligned new cars you would swear they were done by Stevie Wonder. Front toe was quite regularly near 1/2 inch. Should be more like 1 or 2 mm. Every car that rolls out of Maranello needs an alignment. Since 9 out of 10 alignment shops are clueless, be selective.

    Might as well update this.

The US vs Euro (factory lower) height differences are as follows:

    550:
    Front: -10mm
Rear: Between -12mm to -18mm (tire depending)

    575:
    Front: -10mm
    Rear: -7mm

I am going to leave my 456m at stock height for now while I settle the wheels/tire filament + steering rack, but the above is interesting.
