Has anyone installed these air filters? Does it improve sound / performance or is it just marketing hype? I have a 2000 Eur0 360 with racing exhaust.

    Thanks!

I have them and it does improve sound and breathing, which helps performance.

after reading around posts on the forum most people think paper filter is fine. There is no documented case that replacing the filter alone on a ferrari will have any significant power gain.

+1. I used to use them in all my cars and motorcycle...a bit more intake noise, but little performance increase. Used on everything, including a carb 308 GTS, and later 328GTS. Never bothered on the 355 or 430 Scud...they have all been dispelled as doing very little.

The other train thought on the K&N and BMC filter is it is not a great idea to have oil in front of your MAF sensors.

All models after F430 have BMC as OEM. (from my F-tech) Just installed K&N. Didn't seem oily at all. First clean and re-oil is in 50,000 miles. So I will let someone else worry about over oiling them!

First Ive heard that BMC type filters are in new f-cars. Anyone confirm?

Don't re-oil, you are asking for trouble. I've been watching the various forums (mostly p-cars) for 25 yrs and the only time people have reported problems is after re-oliing.
If you are planning to use 'em, just buy new.

Bmc is constructed far better than the K&N I have had two frames fall apart on the K&Ns

Is that so... Well add these BMC filters to that mix. Yeah, by the way.. That is debris in that MAF screen. Went right past this filter.

It passes much more air thru the engine.
I can't really say it makes a difference in the sound
Its constructed with all top quality materials.
The company that makes filters for Formula 1 and NASCAR, Porsche Cup to name a few makes these for us under contract
We will have more Ferrari models available soon
You will not find a better filter and its rechargeable, Mfg says 10,000
I would every 5000, so probably every 1-2 years
Let us know if you have any questions
