    Hi,

Does anyone know if you can replace just the bearing on the front wheel hub, as I would prefer not to have to buy the complete hub. It would be helpful if someone could tell me the source of where I get just the bearing. An equivalent part number would also help.

The part number on the bearing is BARB 636021

    Any help appreciated.

Those hub bearings are pressed and sealed at the factory, and meant to be replaced as a unit. I would not attempt to do otherwise for safety sake. Just my .02

I don't get that. They are just normal bearings. If the outer cage was worn yes but bearings are bearings.

It is a 20+ year old bearing. Replace it as a unit. Do both while your at it. If done right, they should last another 20+ years. No sense with that component to take a chance. More than likely, you will hear a failure or concern before anything catastrophic happens, but just buy it and do it right. You could call James at Norwood Italia in Dallas, for an expert opinion. He knows that job and an alternative if one exist. After 30 plus years doing it, he has learned you just pay for some stuff and it cost more than you think it should.

These cars are not expensive when you factor in age and use or lack there of, but the parts have a huge F tax on them. Some jobs there are easy alternative components, others not so much. In this case, considering use and design, just buy it [emoji41]

It’s not “bearings are bearings” they are sealed bearings and not intended to be opened. Most cars have been using them for decades now, when they go you replace the whole unit. Sorry.

Unfortunately I can’t stand shipping internationally or I’d have offered you the excellent low mileage pair I have available.
