Hey Berry, you are correct i do remember the 208 turbo, however if you look at this link of this 328 listed on ebay in Italy and click on the picture you will see one of the pictures has a ferrari vin tag that says turbo.

    It's not a 328 -- it's a "GTS turbo" (i.e., 328 coachwork with a 2.0L turbo engine as Barry indicated)

Steve, was that 2.0L turbo factory installed on the 328 body?

Yes, as Barry indicated, the "GTB/S turbo" was the natural replacement for the 208 turbo as the coachwork evolved from 308 to 328, and they still needed an under 2 liter model for some markets. The title page and beauty shot from the GTB turbo GTS turbo OM (note the small NACA duct in the rear quarter panel here and in the eBay photos):

Note that those cars are not that rare, at least in Europe, as the production numbers are somewhat significant...there were:
    - 308 "Turbos GTB - Berlinettas"
    - 828 "Turbo GTS - Spider"
manufactured (I speak only of the 328 body with the 2,0 l engine, turbocharged, with intercooler)

Back in the 80s in Italia I only managed to spot 208 turbos, that's when I learned of this model.

Yep, at this moment there are 73 variants of the 208 for sale on autoscout Italy. That's more then the amount of all of the 308/328 variants put together...

Interesting to see that they went back to the single V-belt for the WP and alt (although it looks like a larger cross-section belt).
