Agreed, unfortunately 288's are rather rare in Africa...at least now thanks to the book I have a definitive idea how many are here. Alright actually here is a pic of a 288 GTO. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, what about GTO s from S. Brunei inside the book? You have a perfect exemple of pictures just below, i mean the blue one. Same thing, for the black and red GTO s...some sn? New pics?? Thanks
How many non red 288 GTO's did the factory produce just out of interest? The sultan's blue one is beautiful.
None. Ferrari SpA built red 288 GTOs. All non-red GTOs were done by Pininfarina, and its worth noting that they were all post-production application, in other words they took red cars and changed the color after production. Hope this clarifies this.
Many thanks for the clarification. Interesting to read via a quick search that one prototype (Chassis 47649) remains in existance from the four made before production of the 272, and was painted in Giallo Fly (yellow). 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO Prototipo | Ferrari ? Leggenda e Passione 2007 | RM AUCTIONS Can you clarify if this paint was done by the factory or later by an owner?
47649 was painted Giallo by Pininfarina post-production. I should clarify that the non-red GTOs in the period such as the Giallo car and the Brunei cars were done by Pininfarina. Naturally, others painted cars non-red in the period, for example the silver cars in the USA. Also, in more recent times we have seen the black car in France, and the 2 white cars most recently. FWIW non-red cars have a tendency to become red again.
Pininfarina used his dept "special project" for new cars and color for S.Brunei. i recieved some pictures last week, BUT these pictures are under copyright (the bleu below ALSO). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe the Brunei cars were also converted to right hand drive by P at the same time as the colour change?
Not sure if this example/photo has appeared yet, but what the hell its looks superb Image Unavailable, Please Login

I'm in the U.S. and and ordered Joe's book months ago via Amazon. Now, Amazon is telling me there is a delay on delivery until after Christmas. Has anyone else heard the same? Is there a better source to obtain Joe's book without such a delay?
