Thank you for the welcome Joe. I find this thread fascinating - an amazing source of information, knowledge and, at times, entertaining too! Given I check the forums pretty regularly, I thought it was about time I started to post! I purchased my 288 towards the end of 2011 but have only recently started to be able to really enjoy it - and it is a truly a fantastic car.
Thank you for that compliment, lets hope I can live up to it! Here is a great image in Monaco by Lambo 8 Image Unavailable, Please Login

Just fantastic Mark so thank you mate, a huge cheers for sharing. Hey I am looking for a flat for 4-5 days in 6-10 months, hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge!!
Love it! Any F40 pics? BTW - who doesn't love that classic English stone driveway? Need more of that around here; might do that on the road leading to my barn....
So i learned that at least one 288 will be at Cavallino. It's the ex-S. Wolf. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/398068_10152409334695284_1475854179_n.jpg
I have a question about the dash of the 288. I see some of them having the red inserts in the dash and some don't. Did all cars that came with red inserts in the seats have the red in the dash? And since I have seen cars with red inserts on the seats and all black dash, does it mean that the seats or dash were refinished and hence the difference? What is the story?
Yes & yes. The interiors are either all-black, OR red inserts in both dash & seats. Otherwise, either dash or seats (or both) have been re-upholstered not to original spec, and that's a tell-tale sign even before closer inspection.
I saw that some people were looking for the Dutch Ferrari GTO. I have had a testdrive in this car in july 1986. The platenumber was NF-13-RF. The car was also on the cover of the yearissue of "autovisie" of 1987.
