Stephen, She is looking the Muts Nuts!. You should be very proud of the outcome considering the original Pile of rust you had there originally. I see you havent braved the rear screen yet? Keep us posted on your maiden voyage in her and perhaps a video? P.S. I am still after that rheostat knob at some stage. All the best, G P
Good advice about not buying boxes. Glad you ignored it Thanks for bringing her back, you've done a great job.
Graham still waiting for the chrome surround to be made unfortunately Italy has a long close down period. No problem will send you the rheostat Stephen
Stephen, When you have time, can you please post a photo of your front license plate bracket? Great job, by the way. It seems a very authentic restoration. Regards, Andy
Andy Hope these pictures help Seats are now in Carpet in boot/trunk Can anyone show me how the numbers plate wire run through the boot/trunk hinges Much appreciated I liked to say, without the help of this website and all the members this would of been a nightmare project Stephen Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, very helpful, Stephen. It looks like the bracket I found in the boot of the car. Now I know it's the correct one. Again, congratulations. Enjoy. Andy
Stephen My GTS has a contact for the feed to the number plate light next to the boot catch in the centre of the rear panel above the number plate. This means the feed is taken in the boot lid and makes contact with the lower contact when the boot lid is closed. Do you have this arrangement? Congrats on the car btw. Dave
Stephen Not very good pictures as in a difficult place at the moment but I hope these help. In the first picture right nand side, the chrome centre contact is spring loaded and held in place by the two screws the feed wire comes in from the boot behind the plastic rear cover. In the second picture the contact is to the right of the central boot locking pin and feeds directly into thye rear number plate light. Light obviously only works when the boot lid is shut. ( nearly lost points at a concours once because boot lid was open when they tested lights!!!!) Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its has taken 6 years to find all the parts and totally restore this car ,the car is now road legal, have just taken it out for 40 miles where it performed and handled beautifully. This is the first time I,ve have driven a dino before, but now can say, all that effort has finally paid off. I wanted to quote his last post in the thread, since he wasn't able to join us here.....I think he's riding along with you.............
Congratulations Stephen on a beautiful car.......I am a few days behind you....just got to get the selectors on the gearbox sorted, brakes (nightmare) and i too am on the road. Once again congrats and hope to meet up someday. Graham.
Well done Stephen. You have a wonderful Dino which you can now enjoy. Better still, you have the added benefit of knowing exactly where every part came off, every replacement can be sourced and how they should be installed. Please be sure to drive your car and use your knowledge to help other people put their Dinos back together. Future generations of Dino owners are counting on you! Cheers, Keith
