Anyone knows what’s the best duster out there? I know California Duster is not good, looking for what most of you guys use that you’re happy with, thanks.

I use a lambs wool duster. Wash it every few months depending how dirty it is. Nothing fancy. Then again I have full ppf and ceramic

I stopped using Dusters as I believe that I put swirl marks in my paint. Something to watch for.

So how do you remove dust without causing swirl marks?

I use rinseless car wash. Works great, adds to the shine and eliminated swirl marks. I’ve had excellent results with a product named No Rinse Wash and Shine that I buy on Amazon.com.

This would be correct. As you mentioned, a rinse-less wash would be the best way to remove the dust or light debris from the paint. Dusters are okay, along with car covers, if they are used properly. When a car is washed and stored in a garage or facility, you can use a duster or cover. If you wash your car and drive it to a car meet and then back home you will likely still have a pretty clean car. The “dust” on the vehicle is actually very abrasive debris from the road, brake dust etc. that is now being drug across the paint and gets stuck in the fibers of the duster or car cover. Dust from inside a building can be wiped down gently and will be safe. Optimum No Rinse, Ech2o and others are great products to use as a rinse-less wash or a dry wash if you use the correct dilution ratios.

I’d never "dust" my car with anything. Begging for small scratches & swirls. I'd just rinse/ blow dry if you are really worried about it.

I use dusters made of ostrich feathers. I have a supply of them from a company that is gone (Texas Feathers).

You will swirl your car with a duster. Any duster

Carry a microfiber in a ziplock bag and a small spray bottle of quick detailer in the trunk

If there is dust all over your car...foam cannon wash with blower for touchless wash

If there is grime beyond dust, do the above plus a contact wash with two buckets and 4 mitts and work top down and do not reuse mitts

So there’s really no way to avoid swirl marks right? All we could do is minimize it correct?

Correct. But if you minimize, its not a big deal to have a detailer polish them out every year or every 2 years.

There are self healing Paint Protection Films that have come a long way, But to fully wrap a car correctly is about 7K. This will minimize the swril thing even more. Maybe go 5 year or forever. But its expensive.. Check out STEK films (Dyno shield in particular) . I think they are the leader right now and what I had installed.

I use Griots Garage Speed Shine everytime I come home from a drive. It removes dust & keeps the car clean and shiny in between car washes.

Just bought the lamb wool duster, after blowing the dust with compressed air, the lamb wool seems to work ok.

A cure for the never drive disease: these are sportsCARS meant to be DRIVEN NOT crystal antiques, see this instagrammers 328 drive through Alaska etc, thousands of miles, he is happier than anyone with a duster. Not being rude at all just a wake up call:)

Yea I saw that one, first of all it’s not 328 it’s a 308, second is that the owner claims it’s a car he’s not precious about which mean he doesn’t care what happened to his car cosmetically or mechanically, and third, I have way more miles on my car that he has. In case you don’t know, you can drive your car and keep it in a prestige condition at the same time. All I want is to minimize the swirl mark on my car while I drive and enjoy it, that’s all.
