Hi everybody I'm just back home. It was a real great event. Not too many people and very special cars. You could take a close look on every car you wanted. Thanks very much to Helmut Schnug for organising it! I got a ride in Wolfgang's Testarossa and that was so great. We even overtook an Enzo!!! Thanks again Wolfgang for this wonderfull ride! Pics will follow tomorrow (I have ca. 1500). Martin PS: I'm the one in the last pic with the black jacket left of the blue 250 Drogo ;-)

Allthough a bit tricky I enjoyed driving the 195 Inter Ghia (I hope the four oldies from Holland pleased the crowd) and it was a great event with lots of interesting cars and luckily the weather was not bad at all. Thanks to Helmut and Uwe for yet another highlight of the year! It was also nice to meet F-Chatters Tom and Joren (albeit very briefly). Ciao, Peter p.s. pictures will follow later

That's the one! It was a great experience and we got positive attention from other people on the road and at the gas stations. Driving a vintage Ferrari is incomparable with modern day driving. You are much more connected with the car and the odd things add to the flavour. Like the steering (like the helm of a ship) the windscreen wipers, turning lights, clutch (straight gears and close ratio box make it quite difficult to shift). I now have an even greater respect for the racing drivers of those days. ofcourse practice makes perfect but it's hard work to drive these older cars on the limit. In that respect the owner of s/n 0030 passed us on the track at considerable speed and at the braking point for the first corner he weaved all over the place. Brave man! Ciao, Peter
@ Martin THANK YOU @ all F'Chatters thanks for joining our Track Days - it was nice to have met so many of you. It was the 11th Track Days after having a break in 2004. Uwe and I just have decided to come back definitively in 2006 (maybe with two events). I will work out them and keep you informed. Helmut Schnug [email protected]
Forget the Ferraris, this is the car I'd take home Alfa 33 Stradale simply stunning. Great pictures guys.....but we want more Peter, tell us more about how it is to drive such an early Ferrari. Cheers Simon Image Unavailable, Please Login
Modena Motorsport Ferrari Track Days 2005: 2 days of Ferrari Extravaganza. One of the best events not be missed for every Ferraristi!! Special thanks of course in first instance to Uwe Meissner and his lady. It was great meeting you two at Zolder the weekend before already and I am sure I will no be the last time. To Helmut Schnug for the perfect coordination and scheduling. The 2 of you make a perfect couple for this kind of event which is truly appreciated throughout the Ferrari world! As soon as the dates are set for 2006 my agenda will be marked! I was simply amazed and felt the emotions in my heart! It was the first time I took the 308 across the border. I left Thursday morning and took the highway till Aachen; afterwards I simply followed the 258 I believe, which is a wondeful, curvy road through the Eifel which brings you straight into Nürnburg. I really enjoyed this drive a lot, some people in front of me were even so nice to let me pass….. I have meet so many familiar people I know who especially came over to join these days, it’s unbelievable. From FerrariChat: TrKevin: How was your drive back? Say hello to JB! Hope to meet you soon again so that we can have a more profound conversation. Don’t forget to frame that signed picture! Bigodino: I am sure you had the drive of a lifetime! A pity too that we only meet so shortly but there will be other opportunities for sure! Paul & Merete: Great weather in Germany he??? Very nice meeting you, enjoy your 348 and be careful with the red wine!!! Let me know whenever you’re in Belgium again. Wolfgang: How many beers did we have in the Dorint Bar? Three? Top to have meet you again, very relaxed and thanks a lot for the passenger ride in the Beast, you certainly know how to handle your car on track, very entertaining!! See you soon again buddy and take care! Dominik: I am sorry but we couldn’t follow you on the way back Have a nice holiday!! I got my brother on the phone Friday around lunchtime. He was in his car driving towards Brussels for some business. I told him how great things were here and I suggested that he should come over to take a look. I will see what I can arrange he said and two hours later he gave me a call and said that I could pick him up in the lobby of the Dorint….. After breakfast Friday morning I had a small chat with Jacky Ickx. I told him that I had a book with me with all kind of signatures of Ferrari personalities in it. In the afternoon he asked me where the book is? Uno momento please and again one signature richer….. On the same page together with Scaglietti, Gozzi, Beurlys, Langlois and others….. The owner of the 340 America was sitting opposite of me while the owner of the 166 MM sat next to me at Thursday eve dinner… These were 2 days I will never forget. It’s great to share the passion with all of you! Cordiali saluti, Joren REMANS
