It has been a while in the making but we finally have our full schedule of events for the One Lap of North America Relay. This is a celebration of the Ferrari Club of America’s 50th anniversary. We are the oldest factory recognized owners’ based club in the world (founded 1962, incorporated 1963) and with 5,400 members we are far and away the largest too.

The celebration “50 Anni di Passione” (50 Years of Passion) has the very last Ferrari 599 built to North American specification with a special commemorative livery that highlights that the club covers both the US and Canada, the founders of the club and each of the scheduled stops. Over the course of a year it will have visited every region and chapter of the FCA throughout Canada and the US with some additional stops along the way. By the time One Lap is done the car will have accumulated 20,000 miles. Our Chapter is the 54th of 62 scheduled stops. For those that will be at the 2013 FCA International Meet in Elkhart Lake at the end of July you will get to see the handover of the 599 to its owner Jim Taylor.

The charity beneficiary for One Lap is Ronald McDonald House. Each stop is coordinating to raise money for the local “house”. In the latest issue of Prancing Horse they show $111,121 through the April 24 stop in Newark, NJ. The updated amount is now over $148,000. We are fortunate in that St. Louis has 3 “houses” and Springfield, IL has one too. We are arranging our event schedule so we can support all of them. For anyone wondering, Ronald McDonald House is an approved 501 (c)3 tax-exempt organization. All donations to them are to be directly to them in their name and not ever to the Ferrari Club of America.

Finished the count on cash and checks and it is $1,766. A very special thanks to all that have contributed so far. More opportunities Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks to Randy and Beth for hosting the Arrival Party. True masochists as they moved into the home last week and are still setting up. The landscaping is still an ongoing project.

Thanks to Wang Gang and Cleveland-Heath for providing the food, drinks and people to serve all of us.

Thanks to Krissy, Randy's Office Manager, for handling many of the arrangements.

As of about noon today the 599 was in an enclosed trailer headed to Exotic Motors Midwest for storage. This saves us some mileage against our allotment that can be better used for other activities.
