re: Rodney's Weekend, 10-12th August 2012 Room reservation deadline! *** Room reservations at Deerhurst must be made by Wednesday 11th July, after which time our hold expires and our discounted rate is no longer available. For reservations call Deerhurst Reservations at 1-800-461-4393. Mention the Ferrari Club to get our special rate.*** The Ferrari Club G348 Tour to Deerhurst August 10-12, 2012. This year we are planning a Muskoka Tour. The Tour includes a two-night stay, Friday 10th and Saturday 11th at Deerhurst Resort, and visits to Touchstone and Red Leaves Resorts. Deerhurst has become famous through hosting the recent G8 Summit. Much of the Resort has been upgraded including the main building and several of the condo buildings. *****I have 20 rooms on hold for our event***** The rooms are at a discounted rate and are on hold only until July 11th. After that date they will be released to the general public. A one night refundable deposit will secure a room. The deposit is refundable up to 7 days prior to the event. For room reservations call Deerhurst at 1-800-461-4393. Mention the Ferrari Club/Rodney Ellis to get our special rate. Rates vary depending on room type and location on the Resort. I would suggest that the best buy is the one bedroom suite at $239/night. The suites are located in the condo buildings close to the main building. They are well appointed and many have been recently renovated. Deerhurst is a large property, about 700 acres, includes some lakefront, two swimming pools, golf course, spa, exercise room and other amenities. We have a hospitality room in the Main Building. There is also a bar and a restaurant in the Main Building. Our dinners will be in the Rotunda room. This elegant room was built for the G8 leaders to have their private meals together. You can order a G8 Summit replica dinner it you so desire! An open parking area will be designated for our exclusive use. The cars will thus be on display but separated from those of the other guests. All parking is reserved and safe. If you are interested in joining the Tour I suggest that you make a room reservation asap and definitely before July 11th. This will guarantee you a room with minimal risk. Plan to date: Friday 10th: Meet at Dan & Dianne OTooles home in Newmarket. Drive to Touchstone Resort on Lake Muskoka for lunch. Continue to Deerhurst. BBQ dinner and reception, Rotunda and terrace. Saturday 11th: Breakfast at Deerhurst. Reserved tables in the main restaurant. Drive to Red Leaves Resort on Lake Rosseau for lunch. Return to Deerhurst. Reception and dinner in the Rotunda. I would like to thank everyone who came out to our annual track event. We had an outstanding attendance this season. Our goal is to meet and surpass the attendance levels of our neighboring US regions. We need everyone on board with this vision, and I know we can do this. We have a great group of drivers coming out to join us and we are very happy to see everyone having fun. The weather cooperated, the track was clear, the cars were staged and ready to run the instant the track was ready for the next run group. Special thanks to Derek Hanson, our chief instructor, for keeping everything running smoothly and very much on time. We were pleased that Ferrari Maserati of Ontario came to join us. We were entertained with a record holding 599FXX and a rare 333SP on the track. There was also a Nigel Mansell F1 car there for everyone to check out. Special thanks to FMoO for the treat.
