In early Novemeber EMRA will be on Summit main. Small friendly group and usually have a Ferrari and/or Pantera run w/ them. Everyone gets laptimes including novice group and can usually get a time trial license in a weekend.

    Thanks Rob,

I may just do that. I am pretty sure I have shared Shenandoah with you a few FATT sessions a few years ago when you were in your Spider.

I'm also looking to do some more FATT events, I really like the way BSR runs their HPDE days as well.

    Dave,

Thanks for the info... I did a Google search for EMRA and found this site. Eastern Motor Racing Association Is that the group that is running the November event?

Excellent pictures, thank you very much.
Peter Kalikow's fabulous 212 Inter Coupé Vignale #0163 E won Best of Show, what a good looking and attractive early Ferrari this is. Meticulously restored by specialist David Carte of Edinburg/VA.

Rob, can you post more details on these events?!

There are limited opportunities to run on Summit Point Main, as it is the superior track for high horsepower cars. There are a number of auto clubs and independent groups running weekend and some weekday events and I have driven and instructed for a few of them. My personal favorite is PCA - Potomac region for a couple of reasons. On balance, it has the most accomplished drivers and runs the safest events, and the drivers are generally very friendly and accommodating (except if you don't give a point bye appropriately.)

Last year the registration process was changed to https://www.motorsportreg.com/, which has permitted and encouraged drivers both from out of region and non-Porsches to participate. As an example, take a look at the registration for this week at Watkins Glen, over 150 drivers with many types and models of cars. https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.status/uidEvent/1C47597D-D871-7DAA-D614F2FF41ACD3E2#.U6A2r_ldVsE

Hope to see you at SP or VIR (Labor Day Weekend).

    Another +1 for EMRA

Coolest bunch of people to run with. Ron and I will be there this year again with a Pantera and a 308. Sign up for the time trials and you'll get 6-7 sessions per day. $225 for 2 days of access makes it the most value-for-money event at the Summit main track.

The main attraction in the EMRA meet are the enduro races they run on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The time trial usually gets 8-10 cars in the fast group (Porsche cup cars, NASA/SCCA racecars etc.) so it makes for very fast, no-traffic sessions. You get 6-7 x 25 minute sessions per day.

The EMRA guys are really laid back and they allow you to use multiple cars per driver.

Very laid back and easy to run in multiple groups. It may be minimally more entry fee than NASA but more than makes up for it w/ seattime and space on the track. Other slower time trial groups you can run and have no traffic also. Very thrilled w/ my instructor. Learned lots from a Pro.

Each year I've been there was so much seatime I ran completely thru a set of brakes each day. Nice little awards ceremonies to unwind and share stories.

By the way, if anyone knows the whereabouts of the "Classics On The Green" poster which was on display in the track Mercato area this past Friday at Summit Point, please return it. It was there for display only, the cards were for the taking. I can happily provide a bunch of cards in return. Thanks!

Did the Bonhams 212 Europa get a class award?

Did all of David MacNeil's cars get class awards?

Do I look like the Shell Answer man?

There were so many entrants I had trouble keeping track of my class. In the Special awards meeting we hardly even mention names so I don't know answers there either. One of the 212's was best of show. Davids cars are always great but I don't know what he had there this year. Because of the rain I really didn't have time to look at the rest of the field and the special awards meeting didn't finish until after 6. For a CCJ it was a lousy year to see the cars.

    Hi Everyone,

After some MUCH needed recuperation, I'm back online! We had a wonderful event last week. We hope for those who attended, that they enjoyed their visit to Mid-Atlantic Region? We heard nothing but positive reviews for our event.

Unfortunately, we couldn't help the rain during the concours, but everyone rolled along with the punches and we got some splendid results during the awards. Thanks to Ray for posting the results from the latest issue of the News Bulletin.

With regards to the photos...we are waiting for all the photos to arrive from our official photographer. Once we have them, I will provide a link for where they will be. Please be patient and we'll get them up as soon as possible. I've seen that others have posted their pics in this thread (thank you those who did).

I'll let you know when the official photos are up. Finally, I wanted to give a BIG "Thank You" to the Mid-Atlantic Annual Meet Committee, who worked tirelessly to put on a great event and a special "Thank You" to all of you who participated. It would not have been a success without YOU!!

    Bill P.

That's a GREAT shot David! Thanks for posting. All that's needed in that photo is a 275 or a Lusso and we could say that one photo covered "Vintage, Classic & Modern Ferrari's!"

Enough to be fun, work the cobwebs out and still preserve the brakes.

    Unfortunately, I wasn't counting.
