I personally fancy a local mansion here in Reno, owned by William Pennington. It's approximately 25,000 SQ feet. I'm not sure if this exists, simply because it looks digital, but if it does this would be a very nice accommodation. And of course, the infamous Updown court in England. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM_6WGHJHVM list yours with information/specs Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

How do you define a mansion - what kind of square footage is required to qualify? I was flicking through magazines in a shop at lunch time today. There was an article that metioned something about someone who is building (IIRC) a 27 floor, 50,000 sq ft mansion. I'm struggling to remember where, but I think it was in India. There was only an artists impression, but as you'd expect, it looked pretty impressive.
27 stories for 50k SQ feet? that's not even 2000 SQ feet per floor. That would look retarded in my opinion, unless your numbers are off. it would look more like a corperate office building, and even then it would look bad + small. Now if its 50,000 SQ ft per floor. well. Then that's by far (and by far I mean 20x as much) the biggest mansion ever. I would define a mansion as something that's architecturally advanced and around the ballpark of 8k+ SQ ft.
no competition, this first one... http://www.w-e-agency.com/idetail.php?id=607 and the 65mm house in san francisco Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's the point of this thread? A 'mansion' is just a p**** extension. It's far better to demonstrate good taste, which I clearly haven't seen in this thread.
I must admit that is a stunning home. The attention to detail is exquisite. One of my personal favorites, although I must admit there are some details that need to be rethought. http://www.sothebysrealty.com/PropertyDetails.aspx?R=104032010&N=12+149+4294967274+4294966842&No=10&PSeq=10
interesting, though it seems like it doesnt really have a flow, just sort of my observations from the pictures, and also it seems like there is a lot of open SPACE. Yes the two houses are similar in size but the one that I posted seems to be somewhat intimate from the pictures i looked at whereas that one is a massive. Still very interesting design and neat. I've been to Łódź, it's a great place. I usually stay in Warsaw and Łódź is just a quick train ride away.
that 65mm mansion in san fran is exquisite in person. stretches from broadway to pacific with an amazing view. very stunning.
I agree with you on these points. There isn't much attention to detail quite like the home you suggested. I believe a lot of "stuff" may be missing from this home as it has been for sale for maybe one year, possibly two. To be quite honest, I have not really been interested in obscene mansions in quite some time. Lately, I have been very interested in homes with a bit of history but have been upgraded and remodeled to modern standards. Here is an example, it is relatively obvious where the addition(s) were made. http://www.sothebysrealty.com/PropertyDetails.aspx?R=104082967&N=12+149+4294967274+4294966842&No=20&PSeq=20
That does look quite nice. Similar things can be replicated in modern homes, though. Specialty contractors often offer different types of unique exterior and interior options.
Love the first on, no doubt. Although I'd change a few things inside, it's architecture is stunning. For 65mm, does it include earthquake technology built in? Otherwise that house is almost certainly doomed. That's always such a bull**** reason applied to practically everything a guy can purchase. You can have a huge house that demonstrates good taste. I agree, there are a lot of big, huge homes that lack any substance. But there are quite a few that do.
