Has anyone installed a fast steering rack (2.5 turns lock to lock versus stock)? Does it make it harder to steer at slower speeds? Does it make it too sensitive since a smaller amount of input at the steering wheel changes the wheel direction to a greater degree?

Installed yes. Driven no. I still need to get my alignment. Believe Newman drove one and liked it very much.

I have the superformance quick rack in mine, great once rolling but parking efforts are fairly high.

Thanks sp1der. I thought that might be the case. There is always a trade off.

I use the "quick-rack" on my -77 GTB
-find it OK at parking speed, not that much difference in my opinion.
Car is dead stable at "normal" highways speeds on std 14", on 16" a tad less stable (more sensitive to grooves in roadsurface -Then again the 16" have far better grip in the corners, as I spend more time in curves than on straights -easy choice! )
That's more a tire issue I guess -just sidetracking my own post :)

But the difference the "quick-rack" makes on tight curvy roads -WOW !!
A truly recommended upgrade for a drivers car !
    -for a poser ? maybe not :)

Nope. A steering rack will not change your alignment. Just the rate/speed your wheels turn.

I had the fast rack installed last winter when Paul did the 3.4 upgrade to his old yellow 308 for me. It is a real improvement that anyone would appreciate, and is hardly noticeable when parking. What is noticeable is a ton more fun when I stomp on the gas.
