My California (2010) fuel range indicator on the display is giving a false reading. It consistently shows 682mi range regardless of fuel level.

Any diagnostic procedures, speculations, or sensor that is likely faulty?

First thing, I'd check the fuel level sensor; it could be misbehaving and giving a constant value. Consider running a diagnostic scan to check for any error codes. Also, just give the wiring hooked up to the sensor a once-over to see if anything stands out.
