Hey all, Got asked an interesting question tonight by a friend and after a little searching here, I couldn't turn up the answer. Does anyone know what the highest volume factory-authorized Ferrari dealer is? In other words, which dealer sells the most new Ferraris? Thanks, Doug
Isn't there a dealer in Germany that always has tons of cars? I remember seeing their website a few years back and they would have something like 40 or 50 in their inventory at a time. edit: http://www.autosalon-singen.de/ This is the site.
According to people at Wynn Ferrari in Las Vegas, they are the highest volume dealer in the world. How true that is I have no idea. The poker room where many high stakes games are played is less than 100 yards down the hall from the dealer so it certainly would not surprise me.
Since most Ferrari's are sold in California than any other place on earth, I would guess that is where the dealership is located, and most likely in the Los Angeles area where most of the money and moviestars reside.
+1. SoCal could've probably sold the entire annual global production - before the economic crisis which is now devastating the region.
2 of the Nor Cal dealers always beat any of the So Cal dealers all the time. Prior to the Redwood City store it used to be Nor Cal dealers then Shelton world wide but I would not be surprised if Vegas took up some of that. With the current market.....Who knows.
A couple of years ago it was: 1. Ferrari of San Fran 2. Ferrari of Beverly Hills 3. Shelton Edit: Ferrari of San Francisco's allocation was 100+ cars. Also San Fran got cars that came in wrong from the factory. It's hard to believe that the factory could ship a wrong car to dealer but it happens. If the dealer got the wrong car the dealer would send the car to San Fran
Interesting, because they have always been way over priced -even higher then all the other over priced dealers - just ook at the prices on their web page
Whomever it is beware. I'm coming for you. If I can sell one Ferrari to every member of this board. That's 60,000 sales. Who wants to be second? First car went in a day . Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are talking about allocation. Actual total sales numbers are usually far different. Also FSF gets cars out of allocation without a great deal of trouble.
Shelton was a big dealer and always had interesting cars for sale and in the back for repair. I did think they were #1. Not sure how I came to that conclusion.
Well, California has a lot of dealers to spread the cars out on. I think that Maranello sales in UK, Auto Salon in Germany, or Monaco Motors in Monte Carlo would be the ones who sell the most cars a year.
Well, yeah. It sux! Shipping is around $1500-2000. Thats the easy part. Taxes include....10% GST (Gross Sales Tax), 10% IT (Import Tax) and 27% LCT (Luxury Car Tax). LCT only applies to import cars that cost over AU $57K. You pay the difference in tax. If the car comes under AU $57K, you do not pay LCT at all. Cars that go over AU $57K, you pay 27% on the remaining amount. So obviously, the more expensive the car, the more it costs you. But it still works out cheaper than buying one here, so it can and is always done. Trouble for me is, Yankee cars are LHD!
That was kind of my theory - I figured that the California sales would be divided up through several dealers, so we might not see a California dealer be the top seller. Seems to be no consensus here, especially among US dealers. Shelton? FoSF? Interesting that no one knows for sure.
