This front bumper spoiler replaces the factory painted front bumper spoiler located on the Ferrari F430 in between the two front air intakes. This part replaces the factory front spoiler in about 10 minutes. Just unbolt 4 bolts and the factory one comes off. This carbon fiber part is manufactured by Fabspeed Motorsport and it is the finest part on the market. It is 100% carbon fiber and has no fiberglass or filler in it at all.

    Stock F430 spoiler weight=3.2lbs
    Fabspeed Carbon splitter weight=1.1lbs

The Ferrari OEM carbon fiber front bumper spoiler from your dealer is part # 68614900 $3,446.29

Fabspeed Motorsport has these in stock and ready to ship. (there is no waiting period like other manufacturers!) $1,295

I believe I've seen another manufacturer (maybe an Fchat sponsor also) sell the front splitter for $1,400 so the price seems fair. All things being equal with the price of c/f it seems inline. Let me know when there's a 50% off sale. :)

Seems silly because its a little piece of carbon fiber for $1300... I have seen this a lot where people who make aftermarket parts for high end cars charge a lot simply because they feel they can. Looks cool, but I would expect to spend a few hundred dollars, not $1200-$1300.

    Hey Jon,

I'm with you in 50% off sale I would get one right away. Your SCUD already got one so you don't really need it.

You obviously don't know anything about the cost of carbon fiber.

About $40 to $50 per yard, $1300 for that part is way over priced. I bought 2 Carbon doors for my 911 for less than that little part.

So $50 per square yard or $5-$6 per square foot?

Is fiberglass used in these parts at all or are they 100% carbon fiber? Can you get them in the correct Ferrari carbon weave or just the twill that is pictured?

This piece is 100% lightweight Carbon Fiber. This piece is created by utilizing the pre-impregnated (pre-preg)carbon fiber method to create stiffer, stronger laminates with controllable, predictable results. It is then dried and cured in an autoclave between 250 and 350 fegrees farenheit. The company that manufactures all of our carbon fiber parts is a large facility that also manufactures carbon fiber parts for high performance sport bikes, and Tour de France bicycles.
Before we started producing our carbon fiber line for Ferrari we went to Italy on the Ferrari factory tour to make sure our weave was in deed the same as the factory Ferrari Carbon weave : )

    Economics of scale.

This isn't a part for a mass produced car like a Corvette. If it was, it probably would cost a few hundred dollars. However, the number of F430s is significantly less. The number of people who modify those is, yet again, less. R&D, tooling, QA - all of it has to be recovered and it has to be spread accross a very small number of parts. You have to pay to play.

now that you have pricing on raw carbon fiber and you can get other parts so cheap, time to go make your own. There is a cost to doing business and his price is reasonable considering the broader costs of what it takes to actually produce this.

If you want a $200 carbon fiber piece, go hit up extreme dimensions for your honda civic hood.

My $0.02 on the discussion about price for CF parts, from my experience with my other cars and friends who have bought CF replacement parts, it's very difficult to do quality carbon fibre on the cheap. A cheap product may look good from 10 or 5 feet away, but getting up close is the real test. Maybe I am anal about things but I care how the weave and edges and overall finish look up close. I have an M5 with CF trim in the cabin - I have seen other CF kits that were half the price of mine and the quality is night and day - there really is craftsmanship in the process, and for that the vendor/mfr should be paid fairly.

Bringing back an old thread, as I just purchased one of these splitters from Fabspeed and had a bit of different install experience than what is depicted in the videos on the Fabspeed site.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed previously, but apparently there are multiple (at least two) factory mounting solutions for the F430. My car, an '08, had the front splitter secured using the same T25 torx screw/washer on the outside, but with a separate nut and washer combo on the inside of the bumper. The nut and washer are in no way secured to the mounting hole (no clip or anchor) making it impossible to install the splitter without either removing the front bumper or dropping the front floor section. (We opted for the latter) The nut and washer inside the bumper simply fall away when you attempt to reinstall the screw.

By unscrewing most of the front floor section (including the screw near the wheel well on each side), you can drop it down enough to get your arm inside the front bumper and position the washer and nut (easier with 2 people). This procedure takes the install from the advertised 10 mins to about 40 to 50 mins with a good amount more involved.

Again just FYI, as I was surprised when I went to mount the new piece and found I was not able to.

FWIW, the Fabspeed piece was of good quality and shipped pretty quickly. They've dropped the price down to ~$500, so its fairly reasonably priced now as well. There were 2 pin sized holes on the underside of the splitter, that I did notice on their install videos, so they are likely production process mounting points or something.

Anyway, I hope this is helpful for someone...
