It's a little ironic that Ferrari sourced this technology from Multimatic, which builds race cars for Ford, like the GT GTLM/GTE and Mustang GT4 and GT3.

However, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin also work with Multimatic, so everyone is sleeping with the enemy, it's one big orgy.

will it actually be as stiff as it needs too be on track? the ideal is race car stiffness on track that can be softened to normal values on the road

Multimatic are chassis and suspension experts. They are smart cookies.

No manufacturers of hypercard build their own brakes... That's hired out.

All the gauges and instrumentation and of course all the screens in cars are hired out jobbies too

Ferrari and many many luxury cars used GM technology for the their suspension for the last 2 decades...

Everyone favorite the 458... Yup... GM/delphi magnaride.

It's very hard to make everything in a car.

Not to mention the 3D printed uprights and control arms come from Divergent technologies (also supplying the W1 and Tourbillon).

Does anyone know the material Ferrari is using in those components? The F80 press release didn't say (McLaren is using titanium).

Of course it is par for the course. Companies like Porsche Engineering and Lotus Engineering, of course Yamaha. Then in the world of racing companies like Dallara, and in the past Reynard Motorsport. Never mind F1 teams changing owners and names all the time. In the end most of it is a branding exercise, employees including drivers come and go and switch sides even, which is why I don't understand why people get so emotionally invested in brands. For some here Ferrari is a religion, and this forum has high priests (certain esteemed members) and fanatics (the people that get upset about the F80 and see the V6 as heresy), there is a God (Enzo) and prophets (LdM, Schumi). I guess the cars are the gospel in this analogy.

I like Ferrari for some of their cars (and mostly the sound of their cars, since I can't afford to own and drive them), the circus around it is just entertainment.

All the industry articles about the additive manufacturing don't name the material either. Ferrari is very specific about titanium parts in the engine and other materials in the car:

"The cell and roof are made of carbon fibre and other composites, while the front and rear subframes are made of aluminium and are fastened to the tub with titanium screws. At the rear there is an additional aluminium subframe, fastened to the main rear subframe with screws, for carrying the battery.
The subframes are made up of closed-end extrusions connected to each other by cast elements. The tub features hollow sills in carbon fibre serving as the main load-bearing elements. The roof is made of carbon fibre, fabricated and then cured in a single session in the autoclave. Both areas use dual tubular bladders, an innovative production method derived from Formula 1. The tub and roof both use internal carbon-fibre and Rohacell/Nomex sandwich panels as load-bearing structures."

So the fact that they don't name the AM parts as titanium is suspect. If McLaren names them as titanium and Ferrari doesn't, maybe they are not titanium?

But I don't see any source stating that Divergent is doing the parts for Ferrari, they are just saying Divergent is doing it for McLaren and Bugatti.

I believe it is Divergent, or at least, using their technology. Either way, the technical side of the F80 is astounding!

3D printed with titanium material built in house at Maranello. Suspension from Purosangue it’s piece of art and in this case mounted in push rods solution. If I remember this suspension have 3 patents, one for software and two for hardware.
