I use the Ferrari supplied charger for my F8 which has a single light which will shine red, amber & green.
Overnight the LED was green. But I had to disconnect it temporarily and then a few minutes later reconnect it. When it started up, the LED blinked red like it normally does and quickly switched to amber. But then it switched back to blinking red for a few seconds, then amber again, and then back to blinking red. It is not going to green (since the batter was already at full charge). It's been like this for 30 minutes - is this normal?

(or does the battery voltage have to fall back before the charger goes to pulse mode?)

Never mind - it switched to green. I guess this is normal for when it is disconnected and reconnected without a battery drain (from starting).

Amen. Keep the factory charger in the box or toss it along with the factory battery. Get the 7002.

Blinking red means it doesn't have a good connection. Simply adjust magnetic connector or outlet plug until blinking goes away.
Solid red means your battery is very low.
Yellow means healthy battery but not fully charged.
    Green means its max charged.

Totally normal for a fully charged battery to show yellow and then go to green. The more charged the battery is the quicker it will turn from yellow to green.

The CTEK 7002 is clicking while the green LED in the upper right is lit (every few seconds, click - then click). But the voltage when I checked was 12.7 indicating to me the charger was not maintaining charge on the battery. It should be between 13.1 - 13.4 volts. The clicking it seems is a fault. I put the charger on another AGM battery and it went through its steps and went green and floats around 13.3 volts steady overnight (battery is in a mercedes). It doesn't seem the charger has failed or at least completely failed. I wonder what's going on. I no longer trust it to keep my F8 battery charged properly. Anyone else experience this?

I’ve never used a ctek on the F8. The Ferrari charger charges to 13.1-13.2. After unplugging it drops to 12.9 in one day then eventually settles at the regular 12.7 for several days if unplugged. 12.7 is normal for a healthy battery that is not plugged in if the car is not running.

Does anyone know what the Ferrari supplied charger specs are? How many amps? 5 or 7 (Ctek 7002 is 7 amps). I am looking at getting a victron charger and don't know if 5 amp is sufficient. I want to match the Ferrari supplied one if possible and then mothball the factory unit. My ctek 7002 is flaky, so I am not buying another one.

I researched the Ferrari supplied tender (as mentioned by sfcarguy) and it is only rated at 5 amps. Ctek 7002 is a 7 amp charger (I already have the magnetic pig tail for it), but as I mentioned it no longer works reliably so I am not buyijng another Ctek. I decided to buy a 7 amp IP65 Victron charger/tender. I'll retire the Ferrari one once this unit arrives. Thanks all.

Stop obsessing over the max amperage rating. These little chargers cannot efficiently recharge a battery, they are merely for keeping the battery charged. Higher amperage tenders don't do any different of a job keeping your battery charged than lower amperage ones. Most of the time these little chargers are actually outputting very low amperage when they are floating the battery.

As for your issue with CTEK, I've had dozens of their tenders over the years (including the 7002) and NEVER had one outright fail on me. The 'issue' you're describing is normal. Your 7002 clearly hasn't failed if it still works on another battery. I suggest reading the manual since you're concerned about the specific voltage output at each charging stage before complaining that it's broken because it works differently than a tender made by a different brand. Your CTEK is working perfectly fine.

My favorite CTEK remains the MXS 5.0 (formerly named MUS 4.3)
