Will the F50 surpass the Enzo in pricing? For a lot of Ferrari guys the desire for the car is because its the last 6 Speed supercar that will ever come out of Maranello as well as less units compared to the Enzo. Thoughts?

The Enzo is also a 6-speeder, although a semi-auto. Anyway, the Enzo is so much better that it is no contest really.

The F50 was the car my friends and I had on our walls as teenagers. If I had the money, I'd probably pick up an F50 before getting an Enzo.

My guess is that a comparable wear and tear Enzo will outpace the F-50 most of the time--the prices may converge a bit, but I think the Enzo will stay ahead.

Ultra low mileage F50's are already trading for Enzo money. They are both very different cars, but their value will depend on very different variables as those who purchase the two cars buy them for different reasons (unless they are building an Fcar Supercar collection). The F50 has a F333SP type Grand Prix derived engine that sounds amazing as no other Ferrari road car does. It has the old-school trans that may appeal to some. I can't think of another road car Ferrari produced that captures the F1 experience like the F50 does. The exterior design gets some flack, but so does the Enzo's. I drove on a rally with one on Florida's free ways. The car had a strait, open exhaust. It sounded amazing, I could not get enough! It made me want one just so I can listen to it at 7K singing. The Enzo is a downer when it comes to it's sound unfortunately.

The major thing the F50 has going is its rarity, esp in the US. And rarity seems to be a big factor in value. However, the Enzo seems to have had a bigger impact when launched and still to this day.

They are not far apart in value today. I think the most expensive F50 was around $1.4m and the most expensive Enzo was a little more.

I can think of a few other iconic Ferraris which when launched were largely overlooked, but whose desirability grew slowly but steadily amongst the faithful. I think the F50 is one of such cars, and I think it will be worth more than a comparable Enzo at some point.

Just a bit. Don sold for 3.1MM. No F50 has sold for close to that unless you count the sale of 002. That sold F50 sold for a lot more than the most expensive Enzo.

Yes, and it's not worth nearly as much as 001.

Yes, as part of package that included much more valuable cars in his collection.

Nope, cars. That package was the F1 and Enzo, but other cars left in the same time frame. He sold quiet a few recently. Price comes from the horses mouth.

Yes, but, to keep things in perspective, I think the OP meant for a discussion on values of standard road-going F50s versus standard road-going Enzos. Standard in this case would mean cars without any particular special first or last-of-a-series provenance. We all know special provenance cars can bring far more, and are not representative of the general market for the model or variant.

The desirability of such cars is easily debatable and largely based on personal preference. However, the F50 is the last halo car without all of the electronic wizardry found in the modern cars, not only in the gated shifter department but everywhere else. Also it is still today an every-day drivable ridiculously fast car which is positive for value.

But whether or not one is a better car than the other, the F50 will eventually command a greater price. There are simply a lot more Enzos. About ~400 F50s were produced, whereas there were about ~500 Enzos + MC12s + FXXs + MC12 Corsas, or perhaps a 50% greater overall production run.

E.g.: 288GTO vs F40, IMHO the F40 wins hands-down, but does not demand the same value purely on supply. The F40 is the premier 308 and the ultimate evolution of the 288GTO. Not to disparage the GTO, but one car offers dramatic styling and design and was the icon of the late 80s and early 90s while the other was a juiced up 308; one car sold a couple hundred units and the other over a thousand. 1311 vs 272 is a huge difference, ergo the dramatic difference in value. The F50 and GTO are great looking, high performing halo-cars with comparatively limited production and will thus similarly share a stronger pricing curve in the future respectively compared to the F40 and Enzo.

i would buy an f50 before an enzo because the enzo cannot be had with 3 pedals

i would get an f40 before all if i could...
