I saw two guys going back and forth on another forum on what one is faster. So what car really is faster at any given track? Or is the 333sp faster then both? I really have no clue so I thought I would ask you guys.

As far as I know, track times are as follows.

    1-333SP
    2-FXX
    3-F50 GT

But the Evo version of the FXX might be quicker on a track then a 333SP....

F50 GT looks way better than both. It doesn't matter much beyond that. :)

    Around Fiorano(Ferrari's test track)

    333SP-1:11.9

    FXX- 1:16.2

    F50(not GT)- 1:27

    Seems that its 1)333SP 2)FXX 3)F50GT

You could probably sell a F50 GT and have enough money for an FXX, 333SP, Enzo, and a new house.

The F50 GT is said to have lapped Fiorano much faster than a 333 SP. With little development too ..

So this perhaps mean the car is faster? What about the FXX with the EVO add ons?.

Yeah I recall hearing that as well.

I also heard a rumor that uncorking the air scoop on the roof significantly boosted the already high 700+ horsepower. And the thing only weighs 2,000 pounds.

The F50GT 001 is supposed to have been so powerful that due to the dynamometer overheating, the car literally was 'detuned' (lowered the redline to 10500RPM) and it still put out about 1050 RWHP!!

It is an absolute monster that is an event standing still.

You sure about that? That is VERY, VERY light. I thought it was about 2500 pounds. Still a featherweight in the car world....

I suspect that the 333 SP, F50 GT, and FXX Evo all have similar power:weight ratios, certainly within the same "ball park".

Then, to compare lap times at a particular circuit (eg. Fiorano), you need to give significant consideration to aerodynamics and tyres.

The 333 SP and F50 GT are custom built race cars and so have a lot of downforce (333 SP > F50 GT), both a lot more than the FXX. That means that they will lap most circuits quicker than the FXX. However, downforce means drag and that ultimately reduces your top speed, so the FXX is likely to have the highest top speed. Which could mean that on very high speed circuits (eg. Monza, Le Mans) the FXX may lap the quickest.

For any direct comparisons, it would be essential that all three were using identical tyres!

Great points. Gearing might also enter the equation. Not sure if the cars have changeable to suit the circuit

On the same tires, I have trouble imaging the FXX being faster around any track than a f50GT

I would listen carefully to RTB. He doesn't need to imagine - he has access to data that mere mortals don't even know exists. FXX Evo is light years ahead in terms of technology

It's that or less. If I recall correctly a friend who owned one said it was "under a ton." A couple websites I looked at just now say 1,950 and 2,005.

These cars weren't "FXX" style cars for rich clients or prototypes. . . they were intended to be full-blown race cars.

The GT comes first the FXX comes last. I am not going agianst RTB, I am speaking what I hear from sources and I go by what is logically correct. I have seen both the FXX and SP in the flesh, and the FXX weighs in at around 2500+ lbs., the GT at <2000, and SP at 1900. Fiorano times are:

    FXX: 1'16" (evo)

    SP: 1'11" (w/o restrictor)

    GT: <1'11" (stock)

    (don't quote me though)

I dont think the heavier GT will equal the times of the all-out racecar SP... perhaps we had better not quote you :)

Actually the F50 gt did out pace the 333sp at the home track.

Downforce is definately going to determine the outcome at Fiorano, whereas at Monza or Le Mans you run less downforce and would need more straightline top end speed.

What I heard was that the F50 GT's (the 3) standardly had around 750 BHP, the one in the USA was crashed once by the owner and sent back to Ferrari for repairs, when it was returned to the owner it had aroun 950 BHP at 10.500 RPM

What do you guys think of the sound of this beast?

The last one is interesting due to the comparison with a standard F50, Where are the 3 F50 GT's located?
