I have been looking everywhere, digging through every model on the Pioneer, Alpine & Sony website.

Has anyone found or installed a single DIN receiver that has wireless Apple CarPlay? It seems Pioneer has the best mix of products but I just can't find the wireless connection in the single DIN for factor.

Just figured I'd see if anyone could point me in the right direction ...

I looked all over for pics of the pioneer 8600NEX / 7600NEX to see how it would fit before I installed one, but couldn't find anything anywhere. I decided to go for it anyway, installing a DMH-WT7600NEX. Here are some pics for anyone looking at these. I also installed a wireless backup camera that works great with it. And the factory radio had a reverse lead, so really simple to get it to automatically show the backup camera when in reverse. It works great and love having the CarPlay option available for navigation, etc. Can still easily operate the windows and it doesn't block the vents like other options do.

Alpine Halo would work as well. Here's one installed in an F430:

Yes I looked at those too. The screen is taller on the alpines because they put the control buttons on the bottom instead of the side like on the pioneer. In my opinion the pioneer fits a little better, but just a matter of preference.

I do have the OEM speakers. Next up is replacing the rear woofer, I think its worn out or blown. It rattles if the base is too high. I'll probably leave the factory fronts for now. Music wasn't my main goal for the NEX, I was mainly trying to get CarPlay for nav and tech features.
I had to get a metal sleeve insert mount. When you remove the factory radio there is no metal chassis to mount to, so you need to install a sleeve. I also got the wiring harness mentioned in other radio upgrade posts. Its a VW/Audi harness. I got it on amazon. I actually got two because I needed more leads than it comes with to connect all factory wires to the Pioneer. The VW/Audio harness doesn't have all wires in all positions. The factory harness has all but one lead filled in the harness. Main thing is the red and yellow wires are switched. I pulled the wires from the VW harness and switched the red and yellow, and put them back in so the colors match up, but you could also just cross them. The red and yellow are for constant power and switched power when car is on.
For the wireless backup camera, I got a license plate mounted one and connected it to a 5ghz wireless transmitter from amazon. You just have to connect power to the reverse lights, which are easy to get to via the right rear access panel. The wiring for my 2008 430 was red and black for the reverse light and the two blue wires in the harness are for turn signal/illumination.
All in all it was a very easy install.

Here is a picture of the harness before I got the extra one for the one more lead I needed. It was for the pink speedo lead for car in motion. I also got a parking brake bypass so you can do video or whatever while moving. I mainly got the bypass because it was easier than running wires to hook it up as instructed.

I have been using a Boss Audio single din, it has a touch screen and sets a few inches away from the din, so it sits “floating” in front of your center console and can be adjusted so it doesn’t block any other controls or vents: BOSS Audio Systems BVCP9700A-FL Car Audio Stereo System - Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 7 Inch Single Din, Capacitive Touchscreen, Bluetooth Audio and Calling Head Unit, Radio Receiver, No CD Player https://a.co/d/ci4koya

it’s wired CarPlay only, but you can get a $50 adapter for wireless, which I also use.

ignore the wires in the one pic, that was from me testing.

Thanks for directing me to the BOSS Audio Systems BVCP9700A-FL Car Audio Stereo System. I purchase it from Amazon and have an appointment for it to be installed – are there any additional cables/mounts/items they'll need to fit this in my F430? They're worried that, being a Ferrari, there are pieces they will need to special order. FYI, I intend to use the wired CarPlay. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Good to hear! Mine included the wire harness, so that should be it. My car already had a single din unit in there, so there was already some weird aftermarket harness I had to figure out… I also had a mounting bracket already installed from the old unit that fit the new unit, but I’m pretty the new unit came with one too.
