You should be able to find something around $100k. Any 2007 built after August 2007 has all 2008 upgrades except Carbon-ceramic brakes. They were still an option

Thanks for the information - the later 07 sounds like the sweet spot. I do not have any need for the CC brakes but do like rest of the upgrades in 08.

Agree 2007 or above. Upgraded TCU. Easy to work on also.

Good to know about the TCU. Hopefully it is programmed to handle hilly starts better. I'm nervous about clutch life living here in Colorado.

I'm thinking that I want to use the car as a DD which makes my earlier mileage requirement not important. Still want an 07-09 model year but any miles are fine as long as the car is in good condition. Nothing with a salvage title or any crashes though - not willing to take that large of a risk.

How does one tell if an F430 was built after August 2007?

    Is it in the VIN?

    TIA

    I'm looking...don't have one.
But that's why I asked and want to know!

The door jamb...Is that where the secret code is?

    I'm not a Ferrari owner....yet.
Was looking at 360s and now F430s.

My BMW X6 was built in October 2018.
Spec'd and ordered and delivered in 2 months.

Have you noticed a difference in driving performance or reliability between the 2 model years?

The 06 i drive alot, has 20k miles. When it was stock it sounded better than my 07. My 07 has 2800 miles i think as it was the first ferrari i ordered. The 06 now has capristo headers, hiflow cats and it is louder than oem.

Ive posted my service histories for both cars with prices here. Just search for them.

Although id like to keep the 07 completely stock i will probably do tubi headers as the oem headers always go.

You might find this helpful, I’m not sure if it’s a complete list but it gives you an idea of some of the differences in model years. I have an 08 spider and it’s fantastic, I love having the carbon ceramics which became standard in 08.I recently picked up a 675LT spider and even with that car there are occasions that I just love the raw screaming nature of the 430.

Thanks Stan! Do you know if the “Challenge (used in scuderia)” in the descriptions of new heads, intake manifolds, and injectors means those updates only apply to the Challenge model or is that where the technology for the update came from?

I wouldn't let the CC brakes be a deal breaker. They are great brakes and they last forever unless you're planning to track the Spider?
